No Margaret, the b*gg*r would leave the digging bit to someone less appointed than himself and then run off with the Gold. Why do rivet’s come to mind…………

Don't know about your mouse Tealeaf but I once had a haunted video recorder that switched itself on and off and recorded things it fancied.

I have an optical mouse and the cursor often goes wandering across the screen on its own, usually from right to left but occaisionally from down to up. what does this mean?

As to the jiving mouse, I confess that I am at a loss to explain it, but I am sure that there is a thoroughly mundane reason for it - there always is.

I have a laptop but I have connected an optical mouse as I prefer it to the pad. It's a USB one which is good as I don't have one of those round connectors.

I have a wireless optical mouse and keyboard, and it went a bit funny recently, so I changed the battery, which fixed it.

Maybe there was something playing with the cable which was moving it

Not long ago i worked where we used an interactive white board and that had a mind of it's own. The mouse kept drawing lines, etc on the board. Very weird.

nail your mouse to the desk that should stop it moving ;)

If it was a laser mouse, I would be able to understand it.

Last week mine was playing up something rotten!!...........moving on its own, not moving when i wanted it to, that kind of thing.
After a couple of days of banging it real hard on the computer desk (this didn't make a difference by the way):D , I thought I would investigate.

To my amusement, a stray dog hair had got lodged in it which sent the mouse cuckoo, one good blow (no innuendos please) and it was up and running again!!;)
