there was a thing on the radio today about how they are now doing lessons in txt messaging and the language used which is utter bollo* because the kids will be teaching the teachers how to do it

i however have to admit that when the person complaining about it started moaning about how they shorten words that are already short like with to wiv even an old fart like me at (cough)25 (cough) thought stop your moaning because i even shorten as many words as i can so that i can say more in one txt message especialy when abroad when its 50p a txt and need to say as much as you can on 1 page

I would shorten mine but, I can't remember what they are half of the time lol.

All I know is pmsl, lol, roflmao......lol

I find its a less key presses to do 'normal' text than txtspk with predictive text. e.g. gr8 takes 8 presses yet great takes only 5! l8r takes 10 yet later is again 5.

Then again people send text after text having a psuedo converstaion when they could say everything in 20 secs and normally they have a cartload of free minutes to use.

Text speak is ok on mobile phones. I do understand it, except when my dad tries to do it because he always gets it wrong. On a forum like this where there is plenty of space, text speak is difficult to read and makes very little sense if there is no punctuation..:D

One place text speak is hard work & funny is when you text a landline, someone sent a text to my house phone, it rung me then this female computer generated voice spoke the text & it was mainly gibberish, had to re text person to re send to mobile so i could understand it PMSL!!

Hehehe, I could imagine that text to a landline would make no sense at all.

Hmmmm..... I wonder if that would explain the dodgy calls I've been getting...:D

oooh her that speaks the text message on land line is so rude! You should have heard what she said to me the other day ..... even I blushed :o pmsl!

PMSl possibly or that its a call centre spamming your phone they have given me some strange calls in the past to point i thought i was harrassed so i rung BT to check it out & its how i found out altho i have them blocked now.
