A Halloween fun day in Rhyddings park?

If you make it later than 4pm you could frighten the children in the dark, or even spook them with the scary security light at the play area, which so frightened the residents of Park Lane.

If you are doing face painting, car aerosols will last much longer, and will still be scarying people at Christmas.;)

Re: Ghoulish tricksters.

We won't be here at Hallowe'en this year but I don't mind children coming round and usually get sweets which I put in a cauldron for "Big Aggie" to hold. They are met at the door by "Little Aggie" in flight and then have to come just inside where "Big Aggie" cackles at them and fashes her eyes, if they are brave enough to reach into her cauldron for sweets.

The kids are having a party before we go away so Aggie&Aggie are already out. I'll take a photo of them later and post it on here.

I don't think children should be knocking on doors. One year we had two littlies...maybe 6 or 7 years old.....on their own doing the trick or treat thing.
They said their mummy knew they were out......but it made me very uneasy.
This Halloween we will not be in.....a friend of ours is having her 50th birthday so we will be out at that. I am quite glad because I feel a right mean old skinflint when I don't give anything.

I usually buy a bag full of sweets, once the're gone thats it though, I do get tired of answering the door and dont like it if children knock late, I wouldn't let Ellie go trick or treating she's a bit young, though most of my neighbours do get into the spirit of it, and most of the kids that knock we know them.

Trick or treating your immediate neighbours of friends is fine, especially with an adult, but I do think it is very dangerous for young children to go knocking on people's doors that they don't know.

Re: Ghoulish tricksters.

The fun behind it has been lost as the treat they want now is cold hard cash.:(

I refuse to give money now, though I used to, I know when I was younger and did a bit of trick or treating we were only ever given money!
