Pink Lady

Enjoyed my first few hours, even though I have not learnt all the routes as yet. I am now going to get out my Pink Suit, shoes, earrings, bracelet, etc., for breast cancer day at work .. hope you all contributing.
P.S. Mmmmmm a Pink Lady was the first drink I ever bought legally in a Pub:)

Re: Pink Lady

They are having a pink day here as well but from what I gather of the dayshift one of the conference rooms looks like a cross between Barbie and a WI fund raiser. Glad I am back shift.

I regret my ignorance I had no idea it was being held today. I’ll think of you every time I put my hand in my pocket……I lost my auntie to CA and my employer recently underwent treatment successfully so it’s something I feel should be supported.

Chris has been going in to work all week in casual clothes to raise money for the earthquake victims so today they've all had to wear their suits again to raise money for breast cancer.

Re: Pink Lady

i have always supported it ......... i had a friend who was only 34yrs old when she died of it..... & iv'e a good friend who has survived it despite a set back last year .... we celebrate that fact everytime we are together............. its such a cruel thing!

Re: Pink Lady

I've had two fairly close friends fight it in the last three years and both are doing fine now but it was a scary time. One was in her early 40's and the other just turned 50.

Plus, I had a cancer scare myself two years ago and it made me really assess my life and what I wanted out of it.

Whatever is raised by the gang at work today Sun will double so it seems as if there could be a few quid more than they planned for. Its in a good cause and as such the company is backing it all the way.

I have just put on my Pink T-shirt, my Pink scrunchy in my hair and my pinks clips and socks.
We have organised a Pinks day at work too. Poor elderly won't know who is who today. The only thing is 'where am i going to stash my things for the day'. As any nurse will tell you, their pockets are usually bulging at the seems by the end of their shift, with this and that, so where am i going to put it all??

Never mind, It's all in a good cause!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That helps, ;) If I had seen this two hours ago I would have done while I was on Broadway doing a bit of shopping, however, I am now sat at home 38 miles away in Bispham looking at my computer. Go on gives a scan........:D

Re: Pink Lady

I'd like to play, but I need a picture.............

garinda 04-11-2005 23:30

Re: Pink Lady

Lol.:)

They got the photo credits wrong though in the paper, mixing Gayle up with her Mum.

I hope it doesn't cause a problem at election time and Claire beats Britcliffe.;)

garinda 04-11-2005 23:32

Re: Pink Lady

Can I ask a quiestion re: the play?

When it was first featured in the paper it had Gayles family all in army uniforms, but there weren't any in the play? Was it just for publicity?

katex 05-11-2005 00:36

Re: Pink Lady

Harwood Red won .. You knew anyway Garinda, so you don't count. Why am I still up at this time ? .. just had a lovely boozey night (course polite way of putting this !) with the lady who played Joan in the play .. ya know the buxom funny blonde .. showing her the site .. may see her on line soon I hope.
Yeh, uniforms suppose was a little misleading, but 'aint all publicity, wouldn't have worked if they had walked around the park in headscarfs and weavers aprons .. called stage licence.
P.S. We raised nearly £ 100 pounds at work, so worthwhile I guess.

garinda 05-11-2005 00:42

Re: Pink Lady

I loved Joan in the play, a real star.:)

When she cried in the bath, I cried as well.:(

katex 05-11-2005 00:47

Re: Pink Lady

No ... you obviously weren't concentrating !!! She was not in the bath, just feeding the gin to the one in the bath !! Audiences.

garinda 05-11-2005 00:54

Re: Pink Lady

Ooops that was Joan, the sister?

Liked her as well, very comical.
