Homemakers

You know the shop? top of little Blackburn Rd.
When did it change its name to Electricals4less? not half as good as it used to be either, we are after a new telly and went in there to see what they had, it wasn't a lot though! used to have loads of telly's but only had about a dozen in stock. Very little now of anything, main products are cookers and fridges.
Anyway, from there we decided to go to whitebirk and have a look round there, found what we wanted but what a price!! there just rip off places.
Found the model I wanted, did a quick search on the good old web and beat their price by £200, telly being delivered Mon/Tue.

No idea when they changed there name, but have been in a few times but never bought anything from there. Don't think there is anywhere in Accrington for electrical items. It's a poor do when you have to travel to get an item you want.

Exactly!
Apart from that shop I wouldn't know where else to go for a telly in Accy now, is there anywhere?

in america to combat big stores like walmart small town buisnesses have combined their buying power by forming a sort of coalation so tha they can buy cheaper and sell cheaper to combat the giant companies like walmart

maybe if town buisneses thought of somthing similar and brought their prices to a competative level people would reconsider buying in town

saving £200 on the net is a very good reason but if i was to only save £30 buying on the net i would buy in my town shop for the extra price simply because if anything i bought broke i would have a face to scream at if thry took too long repairing it or replaceing it

i bought a dvd recorder from dabs on the internet and it took 11 weeks to get my replacement but if it had been bought from a local shop in accy i cold have gone down daily to speed things up

Nice idea except that, then all the local shops end up selling the same items as the same prices so not really much choice is there?

i wouldnt be too sure about that..

if you bought somthing where rolf harris was working the fun would be paying for an item and him coming out with a box asking if you can tell what it is yet as he unpacks it 4 you

Re: Homemakers

Like the thinking behind that chav it brings a totally new meaning to shopping.

Mr Harris could you bring out the customers new appliance
Yes Mr Barnes
You stand there with eager anticipation
Mr harris returns with a large box and his brush and paint set
Panic sets in
He opens the box teasingly while you stand there wondering about the paint
Is it what you wanted he askes
You reply well have you got it in a different colour
Big mistake that
Mr HArris then lifts is brush and paint and starts with a little bit here and a littlre bit there
Then heres a bit theres a bit everywere a little bit.
End result you walk out with something that looks like it is out of the sixties with its mirriard of colours looking very sycadelic.
You think to yourself why did I open my mouth a new colour tv withe the enphasis on colour.
