Whilst I agree with you in principle Less there are a couple of issues:-

1. Can you imagine the uproar from all you men if we set up a women's page? You'd have a field day with that!
2. Hyndburn Women's Forum and Oswaldtwistle Players are charities. As for advertising budgets - I wish! That's why I do what I do in the way that I do it - I have no money to pay for adverts in the Accy Obs.
3. I don't think this site should affiliate itself to any party by allowing sponsorship, it could either put people off joining or prevent an unbiased debate. And yes, I'd be quite happy to hear from any other candidates via these pages, I think it could liven things up no end.


However, I have donated to Accy web lately as a member if that helps.

The down side about paid sponsorship for a page of Accyweb is when the sponsors start to dictate their rules about what can and cannot be posted. It would be like HBC sponsoring part of the forum, then demanding that nobody criticises HBC on this forum........ We would run out of stuff to talk about..:D

Just a question though - What else is the Nightlife, Events, Days Out section of this forum for if it isn't for people to let other people know what's going on?

If we're talking sponsorship though, Less, you could be sponsored by Kenwood - they make really good mixers too! lol

I have to agree with Gayle as soonas a sponser lays out cash the law is laid by them with all the restrictions enforced. It woundt just be G that could be sued a would bet a good few of the regulars would as well. There has to be a way of raising cash other than by donation and I think the last saturday in the month could be used to start something rolling unless someone is going to brbe brave and sugest........... Leave as is and lets have fun and keep ripping the preverbial out of the world and all.

I like the idea of inviting public figures on to the forum for a sort of Guest Appearance,that would probably be quite good fun.

Both of those are brilliant ideas A-B .

It could work like the Panopticon debate where I posted a thread asking for questions and then allowed a few days for them to build up before answering them. I was on for four hours that night and it was hard work but I'm really glad I did it plus I think I earned a lot of respect for doing it.

- now if you could just convince PB to come on here.......
