Thieving Scum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a quick appeal for you all to keep your eyes and ears open for any cheap gear doing the rounds. Some brain dead worthless scum decided to try to empty my house while i was away visiting my parents over the weekend

My Laptops gone (so i'm offline again!!) Its a Rock Quadra xt pro in silver, 2 Digital camera's 1 is 6 months old, A Fuji S20 pro with a wide ange lens (WHICH I ONLY GOT 3 WEEKS AGO) and 8 Uniross batteries in a black Sony bag. The other is a Casio Exilim EX_Z3, and its useless without the docking station which i still have!! Believe it or not a pair of rockport shoes!!! So they must be chavs!! and a few other bits. So if you hear anything i would appreciate you letting me know..

They also tried to take the T.V. but the little scrote's couldn't carry it and dropped it in the back street!! i hope it landed on their feet thats all i can say to that one!!!!!!
Doesn't it just make you want to go out and spend some more hard earned cash on replacing such items!!!!!!!

Hard luck mate. One other thing to think of is that they will assume you will be insured and replacing all the nice shiny equipment so watch out for them coming back in a week or three.

No offence meant but this is another reason I like Linux, Without being able to guess my passwords(at least 2 different ones and perform some other obscure tasks) they would never be able to find my site passwords etc as they are held encrypted.

Grrr.... I know exactly how you feel wingy!! No doubt the police wont be able to do a thing even if they have suspects.. It really is annoying that these theiving gits get away with it time and again. You say they went through all my gear as well, is the GPS still there? I think thats about the most expensive item really.. So long as they didn't take the land rover that is! :D

Sorry to here what happened wingy and the chances of the police doing anything is very remote indeed. As for the insurance company they cant wait to take it off you but them paying out is like waiting for rocking horse dung.

Sorry to hear your bad news. They are scum !

Just a word of caution as it happened to me. Some burglars like to come back about 8 weeks later as thats when they reckon the insurance companys have paid out....that too happened to me !!! but just as they was getting in through the back door i was coming in through the front door with my son !

Really sorry to hear about the break in Wingy. I'll lay odds they knew you were away. Insurance cover doesn't help though. It's knowing the scum have been handling your possessions, and the feeling of violation that somebody could desecrate your property. I'll definitely keep my ears open Wingy.

Always will be thieves in this world; often wondered what makes them this way. Excuse is drugs now, but what was it before ?

Re: Thieving Scum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is all very well for the Police to claim that crime figures are falling but even one incident like this is too many. My comiserations to Wingy, having been in much the same situation several times I do empathise. However, kind words do little to restore your sense of security.

One wouldn't mind nearly so much if the people who committed this sort of crime were starving or were reduced to stealing to support their families, but the sad fact of the matter is that they aren't, more than likely it was done to fund a drug habit or just for the "buzz". What sort of society are we creating for ourselves and our children?

There is some low lifes around. Check with your insurance company if you can also claim for new locks on doors as some companies pay out for these, regardless if they are damaged or not. If not change them anyway.

Re: Thieving Scum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry to hear this because I've been through it too. In my case, though, I would have been glad to lose my computer, telly etc rather than what they took. I was robbed of what bit of jewellery I owned. Nearly everything they took was a gift, the ring my brother and late sister-in-law bought for my 21st birthday, some items from Saudi Arabia that my husband bought me and, worst of all, his wedding ring (he had died just months before). The thieving little b*****ds had also knocked out my dog (she was never the same again).

The worst thing was I knew who was involved and told the police but, as they couldn't prove it, nothing was ever done. One of the lads who did it walked up and down our road leering at me through the window for a week afterwards - he was 16 years old at the time.

My insurance covered the material cost of what was stolen but the sentimental value could never be replaced.

FFS Wingy sorry to hear about that! As mt has said if we here anything you'll be first to know. Good luck with the insurance lot but I know it's not the material things, it's having the ar*eholes univited in your home!

The old ones he opened in seconds, and he showed her how unsafe the old ones were.

What a great idea Simon. & definately chat to Simon about locks Wingy, he has some very interesting news on some locks that you probably thought were safe.

Sorry to hear the low-lives have struck again. Take care.

Re: Thieving Scum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear this Wingy. They are totally sickening aren't they? I know how angry we felt when we were relieved of some of our belongings by similar low-life. The police never hold out much hope of catching them but you do get a nice little postcard of sympathy from them after a few days.

It's not so much what they take as the fact that they've been in your personal things and been rooting about. Insurance covers the material value but doesn't get rid of that feeling of having been violated.

Our thieves stole a key, but Busman changed the lock - a few weeks later we found the key dropped in the backyard so obviously they'd tried coming back and using it and found it didn't work. Probably expecting to have found nice replacement items or even help themselves to the things they didn't take the first time.

SPUGGIE J 01-11-2005 15:06

Re: Thieving Scum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The blooming cheek of them. Its a pity you didnt catch them when they came back and got the police, but alas they might have charged you for something than charge the "visitors as it would be easier to convict you than them.
