May I politely request that retired persons and mothers with prams please at least try to decline from shopping at lunchtime. Found myself falling over prams and slow moving trolleys whilst I was running around like a headless chicken trying to pick up a few necessary items in Marks. Long queue's at checkouts with people chatting who seem to have all the time in the world.
Before I get any backlash on this, I DO understand not always possible and have been guilty of this myself in the past; between feeds with babies and all that, etc., but, at least, did try and spot a lunchtime worker and let them go before me.

Glad I am not the only one with trolly/basket rage but I find its young mothers with the kid in one hand basket stroke trolly in the other chatting with her pals in the middle of the aisle. When asked to move they get lippy and a look that says "why should I". Wouldnt be too bad if the supermarket closet to me was a large one but the best way to discribe it is a shoe box crammed to overflowing. I am lucky enough due to work and being on my own to shop in the 24 hour stores after midnight in some cases when its bliss.

I always find Marks’s a pleasant place to shop. I’ve found the staff always and helpful, pleasant and welcome you with a smile, which is nice.

Maybe it the fact that you were running around without due regard for those poor grannies and distraught mothers who were forced to dive in all directions just to avoid you and your indiscriminate shopping methods, You must learn to slow down dear and share the privilege of shopping in such a pleasant and clean precinct, pity the streets of Broadway don’t look the same…..

Well Dougie DEAR ... have shown no disrespect to Marks or staff therein.... you twistin' this point. Am grannie myself and a distraught mother at times and certainly do regard them with all due respect.
We all can't choose on our shopping methods or times, and do not particularly suffer from trolley rage, just think that a little thought on some people's behalf would not go amiss.
Is this our first row ? Are you going to delete me Karma now ?

How the hell can you call yourself a granny at your age, your still a young woman and a touchy one at that…..My reply was intended to twist your post in a humours way putting the emphasis back on Hurricane Katex. However, it appears to be catching has this the second onslaught I have endured in the last 24 hours, I have no wish to row with you madam and I never take back what I’ve given, Firstly I have no reason to and secondly I have no wish to.

Feisty .... hmmm like that adjective ... Feisty fillies of Accrington, Eh ? opens up a whole new image of us. Will put the ice back in the freezer for now.

I feel the same way sometimes Katex, though when I were on Mat leave I went to do my shopping when it suited me, not others on lunch break, I'm still guilty of blocking aisle at Asda if I bump into someone I haven't seen for a while, though it used to really irritate me, think M&S is better now they have the 5 or fewer tills.

I can sympathise with the difficulty of trying to shop in the lunch hour. There was a time when it was the only chance I had because at the end of the day the shops were all closing. Many's the time I just got to M&S as they were locking the doors. I had an argument with one door locker as there was still 5 minutes to go before they officially closed!

Places of retailing hate the shopper who could force them to over run their opening hours yet cant get them through the door quick enough any other time. One of the pitfalls of a 24 7 work and lifestyle we have now.

It drives me mad when rushing around a lunchtime trying to get a few things but then if you think about it maybe we are part of the problem...rushing around a losing our patience hence being more intolerent to those who are just slowly going about their daily business !!!

:) I was waiting for this, short of like someone hitting the nail on the head so to speak. Well said and well done Harwood Red, if I hadn’t already done so, I would have done it now……you know what I mean….;)
