French Market

I see the French Market is back with us in front of the market hall. Does it really bring us anything we can't already buy locally or is it just a more expensive way of buying things we could get cheaper from local shops?

Although it usually looks very festive the prices are way over inflated. I bought some nuts last year and was appalled at the price, considering that I had the same in Asda for a third of the price and they tasted just the same...:D

I acctually enjoy the French Markets when I can get to one just as I enjoy a farmers market. Its the change from the norm I think.

I take it that it’s a French Market as in the French are actually running it or something else? I often look around the French Market up at Lancaster which as gone down a bit over the recent months. I’m happy to spend money at our Farmers Markets and often do. I love to shop with my eyes and nose, something you can only do with real food stuffs; well feed stock butchered locally taste so much better and is more benefice than the supermarket drug filled, water pumped over coloured and bland flesh.

I do......I like my meat to chew green grass at 7 am in the morning. Die at 9.30 am and rest, then butchered the same day and hung for 28 days are so. “No added water, drugs or preservatives” and then cooked slowly in it own natural juices….

Never had good meat until I was in my 20s, even then it took another 15 years to find out what really good meat was…

I have to tell you that I'm currenty on an inforced diet and haven't had it for weeks.

We have French Markets here in our village hall about once every 2 months. I think some of their cheeses are genuinely French but they have been seen buying other things in Morrisons, particularly French bread.

They would find a 1000 reasons why you could not do that :)

Re: French Market

Why? They must have a need for battries, material and dog biscuits, because that's nearly all our market sells nowadays.

The French would surely love perusing the objects d'art, and curios to be found amongst the treasues, that is our Thursday flea market, which they could gladly have, and keep.

If we dont want this what chance have we of the French taking it? Unless we can get the Brussels mob to subsidise it then it might just happen. France loves anything that is subsidised.

Re: French Market

Busiest day of the week on Accy Market- Thursdays, when they sell pitiful tat, that isn't good enough to go to the car boot sale or the jumble.
