And so it starts

Well, there it was this morning. My first frosted windscreen. It took me nearly 5 mins to clear it before I could set off. A sign of things to come I'm afraid.

I hate having to scrape in the mornings, but refuse to use de-icer on the windscreen. I'm afraid that I wasn't up early enough to see any frost this morning...:D

A few reasons... 1) I hate the smell of it.

2) It's useless, as you start driving it freezes over again.

3) My dad told me that it rots the rubber sills around your screen.

You can't beat a good scraper, 2 minutes of a job and you're good to go.:D

Re: And so it starts

1) fair enough
2) make sure you use the wipers and get the screen as dry as possible before driving off
3) I don't know of any cars that still have rubber mounted screens any more. they all use bonded screens as they help with the strength of the car

Heh, actually credit cards make good scrapers if you ever find yourself caught short.

Hehehe, I have used cassette and cd cases before now, but these days I do have a pretty decent scraper. Scraping is probably the only form of exercise I'll get on a cold day....:D
