He's the leader.

Gary Glitter has been charged with having sex with a thirteen year old girl in Vietnam. Should someone who was convicted of having child pornography on their computer in the UK, and thus on the sex offenders list, be allowed to wander the world as sex tourist?

You'd think with all the technology we have now, we would be able to help the poorer countries of the world from stopping these perverts from exploiting their countries children, and alert them to their entry.

If it wasn't because of the press, and his high public profile, he'd still be flitting between countries like Cambodia, Cuba and Vietnam. How many other western men, not as visible, are exploiting these poor kids?

If he's found guilty he could face death by firing squad.

Good, let's have a whip round and pay for the bullet, not only has he ruined peoples lives but he also let alot of people down with his activities.

Another example of our justice system being too lenient, if he had had a proper sentence he would not be free to roam the world stealing childrens innocence!

Re: He's the leader.

This scum bag is too good for a firing squad. Let his victims stone him or wip him to within an inch of his life. Give him a week to recover and do it again. There will be others at it but as they are not "famous then they will not be found as easy. Most of the poorer countries in south east asia could have this problem and it is not reported. Started with young Phillipino brides and has gone downhill since. We live in a very sick world so what is it going to be like for our kids?

If he has done these dreadful acts, maybe he will contract the AIDS virus for his dreadful sins. Tho' unless he is stopped I guess he'd infect as well as desecrate these poor children ..............so he should die.

He was only on the sex offenders register for 6 years; disgraceful i know but he has been off the list for 3 or 4 years now.
He moved to Cuba after his exploits in the UK and moved to Vietnam once after he was brought off the list.

Saw it on VH1 the other night :) lol

Re: He's the leader.

what we should remember is that in vietnam pedophilia is one of their biggest trades and i bet nothing is done to the parents that send their children out to have sex with dirty perverts

parents in vietnam deliberatly mame their children at birth so thay can be sent out to beg from tourists

dont get me wrong gary glitter should die but i find it a bit rich that the vietnemeese are getting uoset about it when they are the ones putting it on offer and attracting perverts like gary glitter to their country

edit:

no i havnt been to vietnam but ive seen enough documentarys on tv to know about what goes on there and although i dont believe everything i see on tv there must be something happening or there wouldnt be anything to make these documentarys from

Tinkerbelle 22-11-2005 17:03

Re: He's the leader.

I've never seen a brochure at the travel agents advertising 'child sex holidays', they advertise these countries for what they are, beautiful parts of the world. It's dirty old perv tourists like Gary Glitter that take advantage of the economically depressed natives who have different moral values to ourselves. IMHO if pervs didn't go looking for it these people wouldn't be able to trade their children as sexual commodities!

chav1 22-11-2005 18:29

Re: He's the leader.

other countries thrive on sexual devients as well

a work collegue of mine went to thailand and in the resturant they had swimming pools like huge fish tanks with boys and girls swimming in them with tables infront of them

he was appeoached and asked which one he would fancy having like he was picking a lobster for his meal

yes these countries are beautifull especialy in the brouchures and not all tourists are perverts but lets not be naive in thinking sexual devients arnt catered for in these countries

ime not saying we have a perfect police force but i would say we have it pretty good compared to the corrupt police forces in the world , in brazil for instance police will execute a suspect in the street and not even be questioned about it

these countries that allow the running of the sex trade with children should be bouycotted until they take better action to stop it and actualy enforce laws that they have against it so that there is less places for these dirty perverts like gary glitter to get his kicks

he wouldnt have been there if he didnt know it would be easy to get coz he definatly wasnt there for the beautifull countryside i can gurentee that

I'm far from naive as to what goes on in these countries. My ex lives in Thailand and after months of hoping that the tsunami got him (I had forgot s**t floats) my daughters got a letter off their absent father asking them to visit to meet his 'brochure bride' and their new half brother ....... over my dead body would i let my beautiful girls go into a country that allows children to be exploited this way!

Quite right T. You have to put the girls first. IF he was that desperate to see them he could have come over (you allowing of course).

you are %100 right tinks

i could sod off to canada tomorrow if i liked to live with family but i stay here because this is where my children are and believe me if it wasnt for the fact i had children i would have been gone years ago although i wouldnt be able to get to accy meets so theres another reason to stay as well :D

If their dad was living in Canada I wouldn't have a problem with them visiting him, it genuinely is the country he has decided to make his home that is the problem.

Maybe you should avoid accyweb meets due to you being a fire hazard :D

Re: He's the leader.

Yes, he is a pervert and deserves to be locked up or worse. However, it is the families of these children who perpetuate this trade - you can say they are poor, but others are poor and don't sell their children to sex tourists. As for not seeing "sex holidays" advertised, they don't need to be - it's generally known that you can get most aspects of sex, kinky and otherwise, in Thailand and other Asian countries. Perhaps they should crack down on their own people who carry on this vile trade instead of just fixating on Westerners (decadent lot) who are attracted by it. No, I don't condone it at all, but if it wasn't there, he couldn't have got it. Punish both sides severely, then we might get somewhere.

(P.S. My cousin lives in Bangkok, he's a bit weird, but not in that sense!)

Also, Woody Allen is making a new film, it's called "Honey, I f****d the kids."

Re: He's the leader.

There is a sex trade in most countries of the world. Even here we have a situation where eastern european girls are being forced into prositution. Shouldn't we be getting our house in order first? After all in Vietnam there is the death penalty for sleeping with a child of 12 or under irrespective of if they 'consented'. Over here it would be 3 years and a don't be a bad boy again. Sex with a child under 18 is 5 years in a hell hole(I won't use the word prison as there is such a difference between our 'prison's and theirs.)

There are children who are badly treated in many counrties of the world. It is up to us to encourage the country to do something about it. Be that by trade sanctions or political pressure. Human rights are something that the western world value so highly yet abuse so readily.
