Attention Sudoku Addicts.....!

For all you Sudoku addicts out there...... Home and Bargain (Broadway Shop) have some little hand held Sudoku machines......and a snip at £4:99........be warned if you buy one, get batteries too.

If you are a Sudoku addict.....or know one in your family, it would make a smashing stocking filler. I million games......5 levels of difficulty and it also works as a clock and an alarm. Happy spending!

One good thing about this game being available is that the newspapers at work will not have pages ripped out by the addicts. ;)

Re: Attention Sudoku Addicts.....!

If you go next door to 'The Works' they have one for £14:99.......I know which one my money is on......in fact I bought one for hubby today.....now just have to teach him the rudiments.

Oh, yeah before someone points it out to me......the game is called Suduko......I get it wrong almost every time. I have to see it written down and even then sometimes I'm not so sure!

Sorry Margaret, in my three newspapers it's called Sudoku?

Re: Attention Sudoku Addicts.....!

I'm not quite an addict yet, but that little machine sounds a real bargain. I'll go out and buy one straight away. I often refer to it "Sadoku" because of the perceived waste of time it takes to complete. Yet if you want to preserve those brain neurons and keep senility at bay then this is one good brain exercise.

BH.....does that mean I got it right first time.......that has to be a first!

I think Sadoku is the right name for it......and you're right it does exercise the grey cells.

One of the addicts at work told me that a handheld version was £30 in either Comet or Curry's. Definately better if you can get it for a fiver even if you have to buy batteries.

Yes, you were in the right shop...... but they do move things around a bit.
They were at the 'Toys' end , close to the middle aisle. They definitely have them in the Eastgate shop...and they are just as you go in at the door...middle shelf.

The Works is a stationary and book shop next door to H&B on broadway.

Hope you are lucky and get one of these great little stocking fillers......we're having hours of Grrrrrrrr! with ours.

that should keep her quiet for a while

I've got a couple of books of it from Asda and do a couple everyday.Isn't it frustrating when you balls up an put a number in the wrong place and I normally do that on the easy ones. It's a great puzzle to play and I find i'm very good at it.

Re: Attention Sudoku Addicts.....!

On advice, I bought one of those Sudoku machines. Eventually got the hang of all the buttons but didn't like the display. A bit small and needs to catch the light right to see well. It was giving me headaches.

Still, I use it to set each problem; transfer it to a sheet of paper for solving and then, although I know if I have it right, just enter the final result to see it pass the solution as 'good'.

Re: Attention Sudoku Addicts.....!

I got one of my daughters a Sudoku set that's a bit like the etch-a-sketch idea. You get a set of puzzles and put them under the "magic" sheet. If you make a mistake you just erase it by lifting the sheet. Once done, you press on the sheet and transfer it to the puzzle. It comes in a nice little case and she was chuffed to bits with it. Only £10 from Border's.

My mum bought me and my 2 lads the board game. I thought oh no... but played it twice and it's pretty good

In the latest ComputerActive Mag there is a FREE downloadable version of this infuriating little game......it is only infuriating because I'm too thick to be able to get it right.

Do you have the web site Margaret?

Margaret Pilkington 28-12-2005 19:10

Re: Attention Sudoku Addicts.....!

Here it is Busman..... www.computeractive.co.uk/sudoku.

Apparently when you download you will get the usual warning about macros.....but Computer Active assures its' readers that these are safe and have nothing sinister attached.
According to the article you can get clues as you go along too.

Enjoy Busman!

I got Carol Vordermans Sudoku CD-Rom game for Chrimbo! I am now a black belt 1st dan (not too sure if this will do me any good against a black belt in karate)!!! I played the damned game non stop for 2 days - but now it's getting a bit too hard - i probably won't go on it now until next Christmas!!!

I can't believe how such a simple puzzle idea can get so addictive!
