Meeting some bods from Accrington

I have just returned from a holiday at the Doric Hotel in Blackpool. While I was there I met several dear OLD ladies who came from Church I had quite a goodtime with them although they did not seem to know anything about your website - in fact I do not know if they knew much about computers anyway but they were a nice crowd. Thought I just send this bit of information to you because someone may know someone who knows someone who went to Blackpool this week. Good luck to your football team. we have one here - West Bromwich Albion - I am not a supporter Aldershot (who are they, you might ask) but they are the team I support It would take years to explain why. If I do not manage to get another message to you up in the Ribble Valley (Hope I am right about that) I wish you all a merry Christmas - sober or drunk and a properous (someone on the site might win the lottery) New Year. Signing off. Desmo

Thanks for you wishes Desmo.

I hope you just aren't using Accy Web to stay in touch with your lady friends from Church?

I hope there are no hearts broken in that town tonight.;)

Is "bods" the correct way to describe a gaggle of old ladies from Church, dear or otherwise? What is the correct collective noun?

A collective of very nice and polite mature women.

A Natter of old ladies? (much more polite than my first thought).

Re: Meeting some bods from Accrington

I think the description should be a 'tenna' of old ladies.

As in Tenna Lady, the discreet but comfortable, incontinence panty liner, as seen on TV.

A herd of them would empty Blackpool and parts of the south of France.

Seeing as he met this group of old ladies in Blackpool, may I suggest that an appropriate collective noun would be a 'bevvy' of old ladies...hic! :D

Thanks for the comments about my meeting some dear old ladies (Bods) from Accrington - I can assure you that I shall not be using the website to carry out any underhand relationships with these dear old dears. I reckon they are all passed the age of wanting such things I know I am at 83 . I know theres a saying "theres life in the old dog yet" but this dog has had his day. I just thought it possible that someone may have known someone who was on holiday at that time. Good luck to your local team although for some unknown reason I am an Aldershot supporter and they are both in the same league.
