the guy was still up the ladder in the pourin rain at about 9pm when I went past. Reminded me of that Chevy Chase film where he gets the whole family out to watch him switch the lights on then they don't work!!! |
Re: This is getting silly

Re: This is getting silly
I've now been told that there wasn't quite so much jiggery pokery as I'd first been led to believe.
The guy has some kind of computer programming which synchronises his lights with the music but the music doesn't play all the time, it's broadcast over a radio frequency and passers by are told the frequency if they want to tune in and listen whilst they watch! These are the guys instructions if anyone wants to have a go! [Beginning of Carson's instructions] - Download the Light-o-rama software - http://www.lightorama.com/demo.php - Install using defaults - Obtain a legal copy of the "Lost Christmas Eve" by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Download Freerip - http://www.freerip.com/download/freeripmp3.exe - Install using defaults (Watch for extra software - i.e. Search Toolbar) - Rip the Wizards in Winter to WAV file - CD - Refresh - Select track 4 - Rip - Rip to Wav - The WAV file should be on your desktop under Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Rename the WAV file from 04-Wizards in Winter.wav to Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Wizards in Winter.wav - The WAV file HAS to be named Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Wizards in Winter.wav - Place the file in C:\Program Files\Light-O-Rama\Audio - Download the sequenceing data from WonderlandChristmas.com - http://www.wonderlandchristmas.com/av/wizards.lms - Place the .lms file in C:\Program Files\Light-O-Rama\Sequences - Start Light-O-Rama Sequence Editor - Open wizards.lms - File - Open - Select Aminmation viewing - View - Animation - Play the sequence. Happy Viewing [End of Carson's instructions] |
Re: This is getting silly
A few people up here would like to try this idea. The whole of the road could do it in succesion, but saying that which house would it start at and which would it finish at. Mind you we will all get a laugh at the whole oneupmanship carry on.

Re: This is getting silly
I'm looking for a pic of a nativity scene in accy it's in a little shed anyone know where it is?
willow the above would cost several thousand, for the most basic using lightorama about a thousand. It's the controllers and the decoders that control the lights. Not ready for christmas? well nows the time that the councils are planning what to buy, where to put it and who's to fit it which is why I'm looking for that pic. Also the shops and garden centres have been to the shows looked at the catalogues and are now ordering all the christmas decs and toys, if they haven't already. |

It's an exact replica of a Judean stable, available from B & Q with an optional veranda available. |
Re: This is getting silly
ye that was the one, a shed. I can't find it anywhere, someone went out and took pics of the lights for us, and I'm fed up of trawling bloomin christmas lights threads now. It's depressing
