Re: disgusted

although a bacon sarnie would be nice. and if its a church of england why are there so many muslims please explain... |
Re: disgusted
Quote:
EXACTLY my point....the food bit was just a second shot |
Re: disgusted
tis a shame really to say that , if there were muslim schools christians wouldbe frowned upon and they would,as far as food or other things considered, have to 'put up or shut up'
|
Re: disgusted
something tells me that soon there wont be an ethnic minority because they have more power over the rest of the country, otherwise its 'racist' if we do not consider there ideas yet if the idea was reversed it would be tottally unnoticed
|
Re: disgusted
oh dont worry about the not being an ethnic minority bit ..there will us !!!!
|
Re: disgusted
they should start schoolsfor all religion and make enough so that people of different religion doesnt have to listen to the other ideas
R.S/R.E would be much easier as well |
Re: disgusted
I really think we should bend over backwards to accomodate the ethnic minorities.
In this case every effort should be made to see that the ethnic minority at this school, the 0.5% who aren't Muslim, can have ham on their bloody pizza, and a bacon buttie if he/she so desires. God help 'em. |
Re: disgusted
we couldsuggest summat to the HBC but i doubt anything should be done
|
Re: disgusted
unfortunatly i just found this on the official C of E site
Admissions to Church schools Church of England schools welcome all pupils from their local neighbourhood, including members of other faiths. If there is a shortage of places in the school, the admissions policy set by the governing bodies of voluntary aided, academies and foundation schools will give an order of preference to categories of pupils. Admissions policies are set by the governing body and differ from school to school: some ask for evidence of active involvement in the local church, others look at pupils' travelling distance from school or at medical reasons for needing a particular school. Voluntary controlled schools have their admissions determined by the Local Education Authority. |
Re: disgusted
I will look on the brightside and with a smile think to myself at least the 99.5% are not at my kids schools.
|
Re: disgusted
if we bent over any further our heads would disapear up our own backsides ..maybe thats whats wrong the folk in charge have done way too much bending !!!
|
Re: disgusted
well the school should not be a C of E school but a normal primary school
|
Re: disgusted
its about time the country took a stand schools should be single culture

Re: disgusted
My daughter's school is a Catholic one but they've just had to change their admissions policy so that being a Catholic isn't the top priority for entrance any more! Think it's the way all schools have to go these days - orders from on high!
|
Re: disgusted
I wonder how many of the little darlings, who the parent said the children would have rioted if they knew the pizzas had ham on, have free school lunches?

muslims arnt supposed to drink alchol but the offlicence near me has been flooded with muslims of all ages buying their beer for years even older muslims because it was until recently under white ownership so thay could buy there alchol without getting found out since the shop has been sold to muslims (1week now) i havnt seen one muslim buying beer at it hypocryits is all i can say ,they want to appear true to the muslim faith to their community but go where they cant be found out to do their sins like somone said earlier if you dont like school dinners take a damn packed lunch , no ones forcing food down anyones throat its no wonder there is still a divide between faiths when children born here are not been allowed to choose their own path this is not a racist rant it just annoys the hell out of me when peopel getin an upraor that theoir faith has been abused in some way when all along their kids are out boozing and smoking just like the rest of the peopel in this country reegardless of what faith they are born into |

I wondered that too. A muslim friend of my daughter at primary school used to do a "sausage swap" with her because she preferred th pork ones! Until her mother found out and she got told off. I only learned about it afterwards. I do accept that to a devout and sincere muslim the eating of any pork meat is forbidden and they would never willingly or knowingly go against that. Schools usually try to accomodate with halal and non halal alternatives. As most of you know my children are LDS (Mormon to most people) and most people know that we don't drink tea or coffee. It's very rare for either to be part of a school dinner but about 7 years ago, one winter, the children were given coffee at dinner time. My youngest daughter had no idea what it was and as the other children were drinking it she drank hers too. It was only when her sister (who had hers in a different school building) asked her what she'd had to drink instead of the coffee that she learned it was coffee and she was upset that she'd drunk it. She wasn't sick and I wasn't disgusted. I did call in at the school the next day and explain to them and they made a little note that if coffee was ever on the menu again not to offer one to my daughter. I think she would have queried it anyway if they did because she knew to be aware of it then. Yes, drinking coffee goes against the teachings of our religion but I don't believe my daughter was damned because she had some and I didn't see the need to make a public outcry about it. It was all done and dusted and over with the minimum of fuss. |
Re: disgusted
Its ignorence of others beliefs that lead to these "mishaps" and as willow says a young child cannot be held to account for the mistakes of others. They learn from it.
|
Re: disgusted
Willow
Why cant you drink coffee or tea ? |

They are still allowed to use it as a deciding factor if they're over subscribed but they're not allowed to use it as a reason for refusing admission in the first place. It's not relevant who attends the school, what is relevant is what they teach. So, for my daughter's school they teach a Catholic education to ALL the pupils in the class and parents have to accept that if they send their children there. |
Re: disgusted
Noticed that in the school here was also a mention of German Kids too.88% of them are normally Catholic

It's part of a thing called "The Word of Wisdom" which was revealed to Joseph Smith in 1833. Basically it was in answer to a query about some disgusting habits involving tobacco at the time but then alcohol and "hot drinks" were included in the "don'ts". The hot drinks of the day were tea and coffee and later confirmation of this revelation confirms that tea and coffee were the only hot drinks meant. So we can drink other hot drinks made from other things like Barleycup and Caro. (I drink Dandelion coffee for medicinal purposes but it doesn't work very well!) The revelation goes on to give guidelines about the relevant quantities of other foods which should be eaten such as plenty of seasonal fruit and veg and not to overdo the red meat. That's a bit simplified but it is very similar to modern day healthy eating guidelines. Some people interpret the reason for the tea and coffee ban to be because of their caffeine content and then create additional bans for themselves which include Cola and Dr. Pepper and even chocolate but the actual reason has never been stated as the caffeine content so it's purely up to people thmselves if they abstaine from all caffeine, but on the other hand overdosing on caffeine isn't such a good idea anyway. I do stick to the "thou shalt not" bits quite faithfully but I have to admit that I'm not very good at the "thou ought to" bits as I know I don't eat enough fruit, and wheat is supposed to be very good for us and even though I have lots of wheat recipes I never really get around to doing much with them. Maybe I should take it as a New Year challenge. You won't find it so much amongst the newer or younger members these days but if you check with old Mormon fogies you'll probably find that most of us have at least two great big blue kegs of wheat down the back of our pantry "for emergencies" :D |
Re: disgusted
half way thru readint this thread i was gonna say wud u make a mormon drink coffee and work on a sunday (but willow got there b4 me!) or make a vegetarian eat this pizza knowin it was against theie own beliefs?
i'm quite shocked at this thread to be honest and the responses. |
Re: disgusted
mani i dont think anyone was made to eat or do things against their will ...it was just an unfortunate accident..that now seems to have been blown outa proportion
|
Re: disgusted
no one made anyone eat anything
ime pretty sure a junior school kid could spot ham on a piza infact i bet they didnt even care its only their parents that are kicking up a fuss and probably/alledgedly lieing through their teeth by saying it made their children sick just to add drama to the situation probably going to see claims going in soon for pain and suffering soon most likely |
Re: disgusted
right on chav ,but give it time soon they will be able to chose what they really want to eat ,and if they even want to remain in the religion their parents follow at the minute ...its almost like a father making his children support the same football team as him, then when the kids get older and have more sense they usually ditch dads loser footie team and pick one of their own which is almost always chelsea lol!!!
|
Re: disgusted
geoff - i'm not sayin about that - i read the thing in the paper - it was an accident - fair enough. people will kick up about it. if sommet happened that irritated me i'd kick up about it. its not the story its the views of some of the people i'm referring to
chav - i'm not sayin they did - but when i was that age - i didnt know what ham looked like. least of all on a pizza. when u dont eat soemthign how r u meant to know how it looks like? when u get soem fancy poncy french dish - from a resturant - do u know its meant to look like that or do u take their word for it? |
Re: disgusted
i know you're refering to some peoples posts ..but you must understand its the situation you's are in, people are becoming frustrated ,and the only way to vent that frustration is to air their views and it mightnt make good airing ..but after all we have no one else to rant to and what better place than here ...its not as if ya can grab a polution sorry i mean politican ,"for some reason i never can get that spelt right first time round" by the throat and tell them what you really think of the country and their rules ...
we have our opinions and not everyone will agree thats what sets us aside from mindless automatons stumbling blindly through life |
Re: disgusted
When frustrations are aired here its suprising how many people are in the same boat. Having a rant on hear beats kicking a dog slapping a neighbour or getting arrested for breach of the peace.
|
Re: disgusted
Well, I'm disgusted to......I don't care whether this stuff is ham, cheese, tomato, tuna or whatever you want to label it. The simple fact is it is pig swill and it is more than time we stopped serving this up to the kids. I thought that Jamie Oliver had managed to do so already but obviously the word has not yet reached LCC. Let's bring back proper school meals...boiled cabbage, rhubarb custard and the sort of character-building food that does not rot childrens' brains and turn them into the little monsters we know today.
|
Re: disgusted
Agreed the school menu leaves a lot to be desired. Cabbage rubarb spotted dick semolina rice pud stew etc. Even then they could still cater for those with genuine allergies and whos beliefs forbid certain foods. Fewer chemical sodden foods fewer hyper kids but parents have to help as well as they give kids what they want for peace at teatime. Howmany I wonder sit down to a proper Sunday lunch.
|
Re: disgusted
i wonder if we say that crap food is offensive to our beliefs they will stop feeding it to our kids
after all i dont recall piza been served at the last supper of christ but then again i wasnt there so maybe they did ps: ime not racist but i am pisist which basicly means i am sick to the back teeth of so called minorities getting special attention and catered for just because they stamp their feet and moan a lot and the PC brigade that bends so far backwards to accomodate them are just as bad if not worse you dont like it here get the F out i know plenty of asians and none of them moan about half the stuff that gets printed in the papers they just do things their way and get on with it without causing a fuss or inconvinience to anyone else claiming the ham made thier child ill was pathetic it was most likely the crap the school served that made him ill and anyone would get ill eating half the stuff served in our schools these days not just people who dont like ham |
