Child's play

The Big Lottery is launching a new funding stream in March (stop me when you're bored with all this stuff, lol).

Anyway, it's all about Children's Play areas and funding bids are only allowed from Local Authorities

http://www.biglottery.org.uk/program...drens_play.htm

To be able to apply in March, Hyndburn needs to have a child's play strategy in place. Wonder if we have?????????

That requires serious orginisation and planning somthing that HBC on passed its record is incapable of. :( So chances are Hyndburn residents and kids lose out again.

Would the idea or proposal have to be submited to HBC to get the grant then?

No, HBC would have to write a strategy and apply for the grant themselves. It's a bit different from usual funding streams where Councils are actually unable to put in bids, this one has to come from the Council. It's lottery funding.
