The front page story 'Gays in rush to wed' was a bit of a non story. Lancashire County Coucil wouldn't even say how many gay partnership ceremonies were booked at any venues in Hyndburn. It did however allow local rent a homophobic quote the Rev Kevin Logan, to come out with the usual drivel. This is the same man who used the Observer in the 80's to say that gays deserved to die, and that AIDS was God's punishment on them.

Nice touch though asking if any same sex couples want to be included on the wedding page.

Makes a change from another page of pussies.;)

I have never seen any cats on the wedding page.

Not on the wedding page!

It is the grand final of the pretty pussy competition though. I can hardly sleep with excitment.

Oswaldtwistle - something fishy going on at St Andrew's

I'm intrigued - what's this about?

Have now got my copy and I've noticed something's missing. Where is our good leader's stop smoking column - don't tell me he's succumbed to the wicked weed again? In fact, I've been through the paper a few times and I can't see his picture anywhere - something strange going on! lol

My Mum's in it though!

If he aint what is he up to? He is either ill or has decided that because its the festive season he is giving everyone a break.

There is a bit about them banning smoking in all HBC buildings

Suppose they will errect a covered shelter out the back for them. At work we have a room for smokers but new legislation that is due to come into force will put them outside.

Re: In Friday's Accrington Observer (9 December)

What legislation is that?

That is horrific. Can you imagine the reaction of their grandchildren? Yuk! The simple fact is that this Civil Partnership Act amounts to no more than state-subsidised sodomy. Is it any wonder that there is no longer any respect for authority and anarchy prevails on the streets?

The Globe Centre is non-smoking, there is a bike shed/cover out back. ;)
