This may go back a bit but do you remember the one with Den and ? (his wife) can't remember her name, giving her the divorce papers at the Vic, this was one of the only times I watched the show, (first wife addicted to it, for all I know probably still is:) ) but found out that just hearing the theme music makes me fall asleep instanly.

yea i never liked that soap all doom and gloom the whole world revolving round ,the queen vic and that dreay market always dull and various other bouts of depression soaked viewing ...ah!!! eastenders the reason to emigrate..

Angie played by Anita Dobson. She went on to play guitar in the rock group Queen, well it's either her or her long term partner Brian May. Talk about seperated at birth.

Eastenders is dire. Much rather have the good northern humour of Corrie or even Emmerdale.

I don't know.......I haven't watched it for such a long time now......there are enough depressing things in the world without watching this sad soap.

If even the music comes on for Eastenders, whilst I am distracted, desperately look for my remote to turn it over ... great sigh of relief if I can manage it in 8 bars. Nearly have a panic attack if it ever gets into the dialogue.
Corrie ? .. always get a laugh no matter what, dedends who the writer is at the time of course.

One good thing about Corrie is that all those who watch it understand what I say wereas those who dont cant.:)

Problem is i think people are starting to watch it and can understand when I give them pelters. :(

I do watch East Enders, but it's not a patch on Corrie or Emmerdale.
The trouble with East Enders is they kill off the best charicters.
They are killing off hunky Dennis and poor Nanna.
I will have my tissuse at the ready.

If it was me writing Eastenders I would have a fresh start and get back to something that is real. Yes there is heartbreak etc around Christmas for us all but that dosnt mean it has to be wheeled out for a ratings war. People who have lost a loved one will not get any real comfort from seeing this on a telly show as most proberly wouldnt mind a half hours distraction from what they are going through and feeling. Maybe its time the writers and producers had a shocking change and made it bright and cheerful for a change with a comic element.

This may go against the grain but a change is as good as a rest. If they want to compete with Corrie then think like the Corrie writers do and through a bit of lightheartedness and cheer in. You cant keep reallying on doom and gloom to keep high ratings as there are that many doom and gloom merchents out there or is there?

Everybody I know finds Eastenders depressing. Loads of people have stopped watching it. Why then is it awarded best soap over Corrie and Emmerdale?

i watched Eastenders tonight for the first time in 3/4 years.
it was the same episode as the last one i watched!! just a few name changes here and there but the storyline is always the same, some old ****** pegging it at christmas.
i thought the bbc were stopping showing repeats?!

I quite enjoy Eastenders it's a damn sight less miserable than you lot,moan,moan,moan.Corrie is dreadful at the moment and Emmerdale...no comment.The only things worth watching on tv lately are Eastenders,Lost and Liverpool FC of course :)
