Darren and Shane

Well, Darren Gough won Strictly Come Dancing and Shane won X-Factor. Are we happy with the results?

Re: Darren and Shane

It was a real feat to watch then record both programmes.

Very glad Shane won, though they were all fantastic tonight.

It was great Dazza won Strictly, though I agree with the judges and thought Zoe was the best. She was robbed, but again they were all really good. Colin's free style dance with the dummies was dire, though other than that he was brilliant.

Gayle 17-12-2005 22:32

Re: Darren and Shane

I know, I thought the dummies thing was bizarre. Definitely wanted Darren to win SCD - he just seemed like a really 'sound' bloke.

Since Chico left X-Factor I haven't really been that bothered about who was winning - although I did want Journey South to beat Andy for some reason!

Re: Darren and Shane

I wanted Andy to win.. though it dosn't really matter as he'll still get a record deal which will no doubt change his life around.

garinda 17-12-2005 22:36

Re: Darren and Shane

I thought Andy was the weakest before the show, though he did up his game, his Christmas song gave me goose bumps.

To Journey South all I'd say is G4 and Steve. One won and was never heard of again, one was runner up and is still in the charts a year later.

Re: Darren and Shane

True, Garinda, I think they have more potential although Shane reminds me of Will Young a bit and he's still got a good career going!

Yes Shane does have a touch of the Wills about him. I hope Kate won't be demanding young girl's money back if he comes out.

Didn't rave about the single, though I did love Somewhere Over the Rainbow, fantastic.

What's X-Factor, some sort of new fangled sun creme?

Re: Darren and Shane

I'm glad Shane won X Factor it means Sharon Osborne will never speak to us 'the Great British Public' again :) Only joking, at the time I thought Shane had been cheated because the last song was more Andy's style and I thought he made a better job of it but sense prevailed for once and the right man won. I don't think Andy will ever be a bin man again as he too will get a recording contract, Gareth Gates did. The one I felt most sorry for was Andy's little boy and can well understand his tears.

Perhaps next year they can do 'Who the Fox Idol' for you.

Each week people could vote for the cutest little fox to be hunted by the nasty men.

Boom boom.:)

Forget who won and think of this 10,000,000 calls or texts were made last night to vote for the winner. At 35p a go that makes my reckoning 3.5 million quid. Its all a con.Only thing i liked about it was that the CD is being made in Blackburn

Brenda had to have the best voice i have seen on the programme but it all boils down to sellability.Looks and the like.

Re: Darren and Shane

Not sure I'd say the 'best voice' Mik, a good voice yes, but I do think the best singer won.

The excitement of watching a tv dinner cooking is oustanding entertainment compared to the goggle box.

I just had another poke around the BBC Children in Need website and found the following info

http://www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey/about_us...north_west.pdf

All the money that came to the North West in 2004.

I think Staggeringman that the majority of the Children in Need money goes to the UK - I think it's Comic Relief that is split half/half with foreign causes.
