Controlled Explosions

The BBC are announcing that the army has carried out controlled explosions in Haslingden. Apparently a quantity of BOMB making chemicals were found, more than forty folk have been evacuated from the area and a seventeen year old has been detained.

It appears that it was an over-enthusiastic A-Level chemistry student. Thank goodness for that - some young man getting well stuck in to a proper academic subject, rather than wasting time on useless rubbish such as media & gender "studies".

Now, Now.....calm down. I am merely reiterating what every serious academic institution in the country is stating..that a paper qualification in such subjects is worth less than a piece of used toilet paper. If you, however are happy to pursue such nonsense, fine - go ahead.
And a Merry Christmas, to!

'every serious academic institution'

I presume you are acquainted with every serious academic institution in the country to make such a grave and megalomaniac assumption?

Yes, I know a few.

I wonder if you were possibly at the LSE some 27 years ago? That was the last time I was called a male chauvinistic ignorant pig; on that occaision by some fat, ill-clad member of the Lesbian Club. That lot could never take their drink.

'attack' is that your best form of predictable offense? and a 'few' is a lot less than 'every' And no I am not who you wish me to be.

Yes, the season of goodwill prevails! Meanwhile back on topic we also had the police helicopter hovering thereabouts in the early hours of Wednesday morning.Perhaps two unrelated events given the time delay.-

Aye it's a little difficult sleeping with the noise from the helicopter, any info as to what/who it was looking for, or was it connected to the Haslingden event.
