Breast is best.

I read in tonight's Lanashire Evening Telegraph of a new business opening in Blackburn's three day market, called Breast is Best.

It did provide a picture, but not much details about what it sold. The two women said they were providing a service where mothers could feed their children, as well as providing information about breast feeding.

Perhaps it could be the answer to Accrington's ailing market.

I’ve heard of this being done before. :) Hat’s off to them and I hope they are successful in there aims. It’s such a pity that our so called advanced society frowned upon those that choose to feed on demand. The sooner we get back to basics with child rearing the better; it’s a good thing for a new mother for both of them. There’s nothing sexual or demeaning in breast feeding.

My daughter was breast fed but a lot of people frowned on it even though its natural. I hope this place in Blackburn suceeds as breast milk is the best start in life for a baby.

It has to be leg for me, definitely. It is far more tender and juicy, not to mention tasty, if done right.
Hang on a mo'. Am I on the right thread? We are talking turkeys here, aren't we? :D

Re: Breast is best.

We have loads of these initiatives going on throughout Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley and have done for years. Some are run by midwives, some are surestart and some are voluntary agencies and parent groups such as the NCT. It is aimed at encouraging breastfeeding as there isn't a valid piece of research ever written that says breastfeeding is bad. There are only about 2% of women worldwide who cannot physically breastfeed, either due to physical illnesses and medications or hormonal problems. Our breastfeeding rates in this area are well below the national average but are improving due to these initiatives. People perceive bottlefeeding as easier (which it can be in the first few days of a baby's life). In the long run breastfeeding is easier because there are no bottles to wash and sterilise, no formula to mix up and no heating of the milk, and it's free......

Bottlefed babies are more likely to become obese, develop diabetes, ear infections, asthma, eczema and dental problems. One of our major formula milk companies was slammed by the midwives and medical press a few years ago for including GM ingredients in their formula. Recent studies have shown that breastfed children learn quicker, speak clearer from an earlier age, require less medical treatment for infections and less dental treatment. Studies have also shown that mother's are less likely to develop breast and ovarian cancers if they have breastfed and that they are also less likely to develop osteoporosis in later life.

Sounds like a good idea to me...:D

EXCUSE ME!

The only knockers I have are Acidic-babs and Doug, or Park381 if one of them is feeling droopy, and needs a day off.:)

They do a nice pie in Italy made from little birds, although I'm not sure if they do swallows there.

You could always settle for one featuring four and twenty blackbirds, which would give you forty eight breasts to get your teeth into.
