I believe that the New Era Club runs some football coaching classes,not sure what age groups though.

The sad point to all this is that dispite the efforts of a few many would rather cause trouble which infringes on the one sthat get benifit from whats provided.

so by doing these classes from 10 till midnight will keep them occupied for 2 hours but what happens after midnight when they will go and do exactly the same as they would have done from 10 till 12 anyway ...only now it will be 2 hours + later and even more people will be disturbed as more will be in bed by that time.......

I think the idea is to probably instil a little discipline, and self worth, through the use of sport at a time of day when other distractions may loom.

There's a whole part of a generation that thinks getting rat arsed in parks is the only way to go. If it just helps a couple of them into sorting their lives out, I think it will be a worthwhile project.

These kids see their Idols on the telly in the papers etc because of their misbehavior wether it be through drink drugs etc. If these youngsters want to emulate their heros/idols then they will find a way to do it. Parents must shoulder part of the blame for in some cases they are that soft that Andrex are in trouble. Too many are taking kindness for softness and as time goes by push further and further to the point that anything there to help them or give them other intrests is sneered at.
People and groups want to help these "outsiders" but just get it thrown in their faces as its "uncool" or it would mean they are not part of the "incrowd." Because of this were as a generation ago a badge was collected at the cubs scouts brownies guides etc theirs is how much the can drink smoke drugs arrests and court appearences. We seemed to have lost part of a generation and possible future genarations because of it. The only people that can help them is themselves but only if the attitude they take can be changed.

I think the official line is spend ''£2'' on entertainment,in the hope that it will save'£10' cost in policing,vandalism and court time.In reality as mentioned the vandalism is merely deflected to another place and another time.
The softly softly experiment has failed time for old values to be reinstated!
