SKY Tv

Anyone else been having a nightmare getting in contact with sky services by phone mainly trying to pay the sods!!! Just had my second rant tonight after them taking 40+ mins to answer my call at national rates so that i can pay my bill after being assured on sunday that it will be running properly & being cut off cos i just couldnt get through at all during december & i wont go DD after they naffed my DD up & me bank charged me £30 for skys ****** up so wont do direct debit with them again.

I told them i ought to send them a bill for wasted phone calls!! GGrrrr i got so mad & the person i spoke to was soooooo stupid i had to repeat details over & over again it was hard to keep from swearing but i just managed it except i was angry even still. They are voted worst ever for customer service!!!!

If you don't want to do direct debit, try a transfer direct from your bank, or send them a cheque

Mmmmm might do that next time Harwood red just i find it usually easier to pay by debit card for quickness & convienience, every other bill i paid today - no probs but sky was above a joke:( . I might consider freeview pmsl

They ask me everytime to go back to direct debit & then i remind them what they did to me ...... a £60 bill for £30 worth of sky - never again with them, my other DD's are no problems.

Even Dick Turpin wore a mask - robbin bastards. I have had similar problems with both BT & Sky, they are both pathetically awful. If you ring the sales line you will speak to some body straight away.

Re: SKY Tv

dont worry about it NTL are just as bad infact they are running an advert right now saying that pirate ntl boxes are unlikely to work

this is because a legitimate box is highly unlikely to work propperly in the first place lol

customer services these days just get worse and worse infact the new trend after annoying us with people who cant speak english is a new voice recognition service that dosnt understand english and has you screaming YES , NO , one , four just to be told that the system couldnt recognise what yu were saying

before long it will be faster to write your complaint onto a piece of A4 card , drive down to their head office and stick it up their ass because thats where their heads are and thats the only place they will see it

british gas is the worst of all in my opinion it once took me 3 days to get hold of someone who apparently wasnt even aware that british gas sold gas

Re: SKY Tv

i put 6 pounds into my card meter which was supposed to be taken out 5 months ago yet they havnt turned up to remove it yet

the 6 pounds lasted 7 hours and when i rang up they told me to keep filling the meter up until they could getr somone out to fix the meter which has obviously gone nuts

at nearly £1.00 per hour for gas they better get their arses in gear or i will get my plumber m8 to bypass it with a spare meter coz i sure as hell cant afford to run it at that rate and i have little faith in them been fast at refunding me my cash

Re: SKY Tv

blimey Chav:eek:

British Gas is the lowest of the low with me .... a month after moving to my house that i took my own suppliers with me but BG decided to take over my meter anyway without me signing a contract or agreeing anything with them - they just stole it. I soon got them reported to Offwatt they had illegally took over my card meter supply cancelled my supplier - i didnt know about it till my supplier sent me a letter saying sorry you are leaving us & i had to wait a month before the paperwork got thro to change back!!

Accymel,
I think you need to go back to your bank. Direct Debits are covered under a guarantee such that if a company makes a mistake, takes too much or takes it on a non approved day then the Bank will(Has to!) refund you immediately. You should also not be charged any charges if this mistake etc made you overdrawn. Another thing of note is that if a company wishes to change the amount they will collect from a deriect debit then they have to give you prior notice. Normally this will be a letter although a recorded telehone converstaion will suffice.

Get back to your bank and kick up a fuss.

To me it sound more like your bank is at fault for not following its procedures correctly when Sjy made the initial mistake. If it had, you would not be feeling as you do about Sky.

Ian

Re: SKY Tv

Thanks Entwisi

I dont think theres a lot they can do & doubt i'll get far as if i had known earlier, thing is this was 6yrs ago but least im more the wiser now & yeah you are right it had stigmatised my view of sky as i was led to beleive it was totally their fault being far too premmature with taking their money - which they shouldn't of broke the agreement on.

I will do what H Red has suggested then i still control when they get their money without the hassle of phone bills.:)

I have done that before and one time i was literally falling asleep waiting for tham to answer the phone.

I hate BG so much i had nothing but trouble with them for the 5 years i was with them! after 1-2 years i had never received a bill or statement from them so i rang them didnt want them to turn around and send me a huge bill so like i said i rang them and after waiting to get through they said ho right we will send one out.

Over a month went buy and nothing i rang back oh sorry theres nothing on the computer i will send one out.

Nothing again and this went on for months until i snapped at them and then they said we cant send you a statement because when WE changed your meter we didnt take the relevant readings and it shows that you are £1500 in credit, by this time i was trying to change companys but because all this was in the air i could not do anything i told the woman just send me the credit and we will call it quits!! (yeah right) i must have made around 50 phone calls to them and thats without exaggerating oh sorry the other person didnt do what they said they were going to do and blah blah blag blag, i need to speak to the manager anyway i finally managed to get it sorted they sent me a cheque for £29 that i had over paid them even though i cant figure out how they can work it out how much they owe me if they dont have the origanal meter reading by my working out over 5 years im sure they should have owed me more ive not been with the new company for long and they already owe me money.

Then they had the cheek to come knocking at my door a while ago asking me to go back i laughed in his face!!

Steer well clear of British Gas!!!!

entwisi 04-01-2006 15:02

Re: SKY Tv

Ask them for a formal statement of gas used. This should have accurate readings for both end of the contract. If they can't provide it then ask for a full refund of money as they cannot bill you for gas they cannot prove you have had.

If they 'claim' you used X tell them you used Y

But do sky beat the wonderful (eh em!!) customer services you can get from BT???

After giving birth to a beautiful baby girl, not wanting any extra hassles; I trusted in BT, a reputable company, to provide my phone and internet services. I thought BIG company should be a doddle!!!

HOW WRONG I WAS!!!!!!

4 weeks later my internet was still not connected properly, i had been on the phone every day for these 4 weeks and after trawling through the automated message again and again I repeated the same long winded story every time because they all seemed to stupid to understand and why were the details not logged?. Eventually theproblem was sorted out with full refunds of all charges but jesus wept, what a performance!!!

What ever happened to an easy life??

Re: SKY Tv

i have had problems with Sky and BG.

I once informed Sky that I was terminating my contract as I was moving house temporarily where there was no landline. 5 months later they contacted 'me' through the contact details I had left them which were for a place of work that I no longer worked at, and asked 'me' if I wished to go back. 'Me' said yes and the service was resumed with funds coming out of bank via the direct debit details I had given them years earlier before I terminated my contract. It took 4 months before I noticed the direct debits and the overdrawn fees I had been charged on occasions when the funds weren't in to pay this bill that I hadn't expected. I eventually got my money back through the bank, who in turn were re-imbursed by Sky. Sky then spent 18 months trying to get me to court to retrieve the money they had to pay my bank. I informed them that they had never spoken to me, on the date and time they rang me at a place of work that I no longer had access to and I had Alarm Monitoring Company proof that those premises were empty, locked and vacant from 3 hours earlier than the time of the call until 40 hours later. They also had not asked for an account password when re-activating the account when they had always asked me for one even if I was ringing to pay them. And, why did they still have my bank details on file 5 months after I had cancelled my contract? Surely this is breach of the Confidential Data Act?

And don't get me started on those b@s!@rd, ****ing ****s at ****ing British Gas

I get it booked off my Credit Card as living abroad you are not supposed to have it.2 years ago Sky changed the company they were using for the Credit Cards and wanted a fee of 85 quid because i was using a German Credit Card.Cancelled the contract and got another Sky Card and told them to stuff their 85 quid.
