Gloomy Winter Days.

There is always a bit of an anti-climax after the festive season.
Everything seems cold and gloomy.......not much colour in life.
What do you do to lift your spirits on a winter day?

Doug 05-01-2006 15:08

Re: Gloomy Winter Days.

A. Head for the hills and shake off the cobwebs.

B. Drink.

Re: Gloomy Winter Days.

I send my partner out to work nights then snuggle up in bed , that always makes me feel better.

Re: Gloomy Winter Days.

I love dark winter evenings, the total silence when the children are in bed and all is done, the telly is off and my brew is hot...........bliss

I've just had to take all the Christmas decs down today ..... so gloomy pretty much sums it up :(

I'm going to watch Celeb BB then get a nice hot coffee, a massive amount of chocolate and spend the night with Bon Jovi ;) ..... OK so it's only a DVD but I can dream. :)

I bought some lovely flowers, so it didn't look too bare now that all the holly is on the compost heap.

Winter blues?

Pah!

We are past mid winter.

Everyday is getting lighter.

Spring is coming.

Soon be Summer.:)

To lift the winter blues Margeret i must admit i:

A. Shop then do more shopping.

Also i always make sure i have fresh flowers in some part of the house.

I've always thought it a pity that humans can't hibernate - I'd be first in the queue. Curled up all cosy in a nice warm bed, and the added advantage that when you wake up you've lost several stone!

Next best thing is to curl up in a corner of the sofa with a good book and a large drink.

Of course, if the lottery came up, you could always b****r off to Barbados - that should cheer anyone up!

Today is one of those 'back to bed' days.......I don't think it is ever going to be light again. Lettie I think I am down there with you in that Winter rut......is there anyone out there with a rope to pull us both out?

Tinkerbelle 07-01-2006 14:55

No H.R. I think there are a few of us with a fit of the 'glumps'.......I think I might just go and have some liquid sunshine......a snort of Croft Original.

Re: Gloomy Winter Days.

I know how you feel Margaret, I wasn’t able to sleep last night and ended up staying in be to lunch. It’s dull and dank up here, I’m sat having a brew and listening to Radio Lancashire on the web. The only highlight today is Stanley’s 1-0 up at Canvey Island.

It’s a crap weekend this week, walking tomorrow is out due to the distance and the state of the car which goes in Monday morning so I’ll have to clean the Lake District out of it in the morning. I hate having to do that.

Tinkerbelle 07-01-2006 15:05

Re: Gloomy Winter Days.

Think I would need a crate of Croft Original to put a smile on my face today :( .......... OK whinge over from Miss Miserable Madame

ME:)

Honestly.

It is a bit gloomy, but once we get past the shortest day I feel so much better. Infact there is a definete stirring, but I won't go into that.

Just go and hunt for some snowdrops. Then it'll be crocuses, then daffs....then SUMMER will be nearly here.:)
