Once a chav, always a chav....
.....or do the clothes make her a lady?
I'm talking about Colleen McLoughlin who has been photographed in stylish designer clothes for Vogue and for other magazines. They're calling it an amazing transformation - but is this the case really or will she always be a chav in the eyes of the British public? |
Re: Once a chav, always a chav....
I watched a programme about her on Channel 5..............I know, I'm a sado.
She wanted people to see her in a different light, but the whole programme was based around her search for a dress for an awards ceremony! She looked good in Vogue. With the right make up, clothes, lighting and photographer, most people can be made to look fantastic though. I wouldn't be so cruel to mention sows ear and a silk purse. |
Re: Once a chav, always a chav....
I think the answer to that one Gayle is........YES!

Are we talking about another meaningless individual who doesn’t actually contribute anything.

Re: Once a chav, always a chav....
She shops, she writes a column for a magazine, she speaks two laguages, Scouse and English, and her boyfriend earns squillions.
She has a full and varied life. Oh, and did I mention she shops?;) |

Good manners make ladies, not clothes. Clothes make clothes horses. From what I have seen of her (not much, thank God) any help she can get on the clothes front is none too soon.

Re: Once a chav, always a chav....
exactly
plus one dress change doesnt make a lady consistantly keepin that image to show that u have left behind the tracky bottoms etc i think she's prob hired a image make over person to get her more classy as she prob wants tv work... |
Re: Once a chav, always a chav....
A lady is a lady no matter what she wears. The same goes for a chav. It isn't the clothes it's the outlook/attitude/view of life etc.
Of course someone can change, but not by changeing what she wears. |
Re: Once a chav, always a chav....
We have had rockers teddie boys punks mods goths and numerous others so maybe given time the chav craze will pop its clogs. Its a fashion of sorts and they dont always last.

It does make me sad that Britain used to be at the forefront of youth culture, with every generation inventing something new to themselves, and exciting. Like Spud said, from Teddy boys to punk we as a country have shown great inventiveness. The chav/sportswear look as been with us since the late 80's, it's time to move on, and for the youth of today to show that they aren't like sheep in Nike clothing. |

I don't think chavs are just a fashion craze. It's not just what they wear, it's the way they are.

WKD have recently released a new red colour drink to snatch the remaining %25 of the chav market that are pushing burgendy burbery prams so now all chavs can co-ordinate their babys with their drink when pushing them down the street :D

Re: Once a chav, always a chav....
i must say that i really cannot stand the girl, but why is she a chav? Chavs wear sport names adidas, hackett, nike, le coq sportif, lacoste? they then wear toilet chains around there necks and wrists with big chunky rings on there fingers, then they wear lanyards around there necks with an up to date phone hanging off? aswell as hoodies and tracksuit bottoms tucked into there socks?
i must admit that i have never seen her in these knid of clothes fair enough she wears matching pink towelling tops and matching pants but there was a craze last year for girls to wear that kind of thing but its slowly being shoved aside now. She shops at primark were they sell little sports wear? she has admitted that its cheap and great for clothes? i shop there does that make me a chav? at least shes not blowing hundreds of pounds on a top or skirt like victoria beckham does when she shops? shes giving a small high street chain the chance to earn a few pounds while she can? at least when children are asking there mums and dads if they can go primark they wont be out of pocket and cannot grumble or complain at the prices?? Shes a footballers fiancee, course shes going to spend his money? i certainly would whats point of earning it all and not being able to spend it? isnt that what being a young healthy and wealthy couple are all about?? theyve no kids to spend it on? all i can say is take a look at chavs around accrington, blackburn or where ever and ask them if they shop at the places she shops i bet you bottom dollar they laugh and say its more for normal dressed people?! :D |
