Anyone got a spare paper bag ??
As my hair as been fading recently from what was copper locks to dullish brown, thought I would try and bring a little colour back into my life.
If anyone spots a walking Belisha Beacon around Sainsburys later ... only me folks !! Sob, sob. Saving grace is 'wash in wash out' and only lasts 3-5 washes, so should be back to normal by Thursday latest. |
Re: Anyone got a spare paper bag ??
I bet it doesn't look anywhere near as bad as you think.
It is amazing isn't it, if our hair looks good we feel good......if it looks bad(or WE think it looks bad) we feel terrible. How shallow is that? Not that I am any different. I had my bobbed hair cut short about this time last year.....felt like I needed a makeover (plastic surgery would have been right)......it was a mistake......I haven't had it cut since and it is just beginning to look alright. Hope you soon get back to what you feel is an acceptable colour Katex. |
Re: Anyone got a spare paper bag ??
Oh Katex you have my sympathy! I hate hair disasters and I've had loads! lol!
I was sat at home one day bored and thought 'Oh I fancy going blonde'. Off I trot to Boots to get a hair bleaching kit. Did the business, as I'm really dark haired I thought I'd leave it on for a while longer than it said. When I did wash it off, I swear .... it was bright illuminous YELLOW!!! I could have cried!! Straight to the hairdressers (who just fell about laughing for ages!) to return it back to my natural colour lol! I agree with Margaret about the importance of our hair to us. I love my hair, although you wouldn't think so with how badly I mistreat it lol! When I was younger my hair was really straight and I spent a fortune having the perms to make it curly ..... now it's naturally curly I spend hours straightening it .... and i've even been known to get the iron on it when I'm rushing lol! :o I often think if it could my hair, it would just get off my head and run away after slapping me very hard!! |

Ladies: Thank you for your sympathy in my 'hour of need' and loved all your little anecdotes re. similar experiences. Girl at Sainsbury's checkout, very chatty (think new policy here). They start off by asking you if you have had a good day. "Yes" says I, apart from this hair disaster ..secretly hoping that she would say ... "looks OK to me", but she didn't :( Told me a funny story however about putting pink sparkly streaks in her hair which lasted for weeks. Made me laugh. |

Re: Anyone got a spare paper bag ??
Its ok I Once Upon a Time I was told that cow crap made your hair grow faster, so off I went up to my Gran's who lived in a field in Cockerlumb and filled a bag full of cow manure, took it home and washed my hair with it. lol. I was only 15 and at a later date was told it was a joke. I didnt find it funny at the time. ha

Re: Anyone got a spare paper bag ??
Ladies a little tip I have picked up over the years....Semi permanent dyes give a deeper colour the longer you leave them on and keep on working until you rinse them out. Permanent colour develops after 30 mins and stops working.
Depending on how long you left it on Katex the longer it is going to take to 'wash out'. My experience (and I've coloured my hair for years) it will take ages to get rid of the red. Good luck! ;-) |

Re: Anyone got a spare paper bag ??
 :D I didnt do it at my gran's she lived in the middle of a field full of cows and i went up their to collect the cow dong then walked back home with the bag full. The thing was, my mum watched me do it and kicked me out into the garage whilst it was on my head.
