MTV... Is it Musical Telivision anymore????
 

I have not watched MTV for 2 or so years now, but today being at home all day and having nothing to do i was flicking through and thought id watch a little MTV while surfing the net. But there is no music on it anymore i checked the MTV TV Guide and it says its all TV shows like Pimp My Ride and Punked where has all the music gone???? And how can they still get away with calling the channel MTV when there is No Music Television on it to watch!?

With the music they put on the other MTV channels I wouldn't want any music on MTV! Apart from MTV2; MTV is full of rubbish - corporate pop and American teen reality shows....makes you sick.
The only music channel I watch is VH2 - real music!!

now now girls calm down............. Its all gone so commercialised with all the ringtone adverts its absoloutley crazy! If you ask me i think its all a money making scam, I mean fair enough Pimp My Ride with Exhibit ok but Pimp My Ride UK with Westwood!!!! Whats that all about hes white but talks like he is in the gheto or something, i wish someone would give this guy a real reality check and knock him back to earth. The mans a fool! I can now officialy say i wont be watching MTV again for another few years.

Its all about ringtones and selling them i thought i just have a flick through the other music channels on sky and they are all full og them!!!!

mtv is probably one of the best marketers of its channels anywhere.

it gets the young wiht its pop chanel - then it moves u on mtv where it creates a following. the fact that shows like cribs and pimp my ride, newlyweds etc are copied to death is a testimony of its appeal.

then for the music it gives u mtv2, base, and tmf

as u get older it gives u the vh1 chanels!

though theyve gotta get rid of the ring tone ad's they're ficking annoying

what u have to remember is that each generation is different to the next

what soem mite consider mtv having lost its soul others may see it as being more street than ever b4...

considering how mtv evolved from not playin vids by black artists to havin stations dedicated to black music just shows that even they have to adapt to change

we all know rap died when Tupac Shakur passed away; thugs talking about car wheels and arses, throwing dollar bills over girls in videos is NOT rap music.
and there hasnt been a decent RnB track since Marvin Gaye.
so no, MTV does not dedicate a channel to black music - it has a channel dedicated to the empty space that real music once occupied.
