Sexual Discrimination
I am all for sexual discrimination, I think it is obvious from most of my threads, however, here is a lady I feel sorry for:-
Abortion is my human right, says Polish woman I for one agree with her, for those of you that won't bother going to the link here's a short description of her plight:- She's a woman of 35 years had problems with the birth of her first two children and was warned that if she didn't abort her third child she could lose her sight. She opted for it, she lives in a very religious country that is strict on abortion. When she went to have the abortion the doctors refused to allow it. What do her lawyers advise her to claim under???? Sexual Discrimination!! Madam as tragic as your circumstances are change your lawyers, no man yet has been refused an abortion! Not because we are favoured, just because we've never needed one. Any other Human rights claim might cover it but surely not that? Please, please can we have some sanity in this world instead of religion poking it's nose where it doesn't belong, that lady given an abortion would be fit and well to look after her other children if she had lost this one, now she is an invalid and looking after three. Even the maths is against it. |

Re: Sexual Discrimination
Who says that all lawyers are smart. This lot in Poland sound like they went to a gutter school.

Re: Sexual Discrimination
Did she not know about the dangers before she got herself pregnant??
After all after 2 children, she must be aware of how babies are made and stopped from being made:confused: |

Re: Sexual Discrimination
If men have access to a vasectomy in Poland, she could perhaps have a case based on sexual discrimination.
At my wonderful new GP's, which is a Christian practice, I too was informed that the Doctor's faith wouldn't interfere with any treatment, other than the fact that I wouldn't be able to be refered for a termination. Phew.:D |

Re: Sexual Discrimination
Hey slinky you didn't look like a man when you called round to our house. Unless you were in drag and ginger is a shirt lifter.
I also think this lady has been done an injustice in Poland. We don't know the full story so maybe we should not judge on how she became pregnant. We also don't know if she had been refused sterilization do we? |
Re: Sexual Discrimination
There are a lot of things that we don't know about this case. Was she a single parent when she got pregnant again or was she with a long term partner or husband? Which eye condition does she have? Is it degenerative? Would it have degenerated without her becoming pregnant? Was she given relevant advice on how to avoid becoming pregnant and did she follow it? The courts will ask all of these questions, and many more before any decision is made.....

Re: Sexual Discrimination
Lettie the lawyer has asked the questions. Seems this poor women might have been lead up the garden path with the advice she was "alledgedly" given.
