Rock band t-shirts

At what age do you think people should stop wearing Rock band t-shirts?

I was out today and I saw a chap, obviously late 40s, possibly early 50s, wearing a rock band t-shirt. You know the ones - Def Leppard, Lenyrd Skynard, Meat Loaf etc. Big paunch, scruffy jeans, etc - not a good look!

My son has a few "vintage" tour t-shirts he often wears. He also wears one with his own band's logo and one with that of the AC/DC tribute band he plays lead guitar in. He wears jeans or leather pants, doesn't have a paunch (thank god) and his hair is greying. He can be forced into a suit, occasionally, and has been known to wear a tie. Believe it or not he looks fabulous in a dinner jacket (about once every 5 years). He's 40. :D

The odd thing is, he never looks scruffy or out of place but then he's been a musician for over 20 years and I suppose he has "the look". Will this be acceptable in another 10 years? Heaven only knows - I'll get back to you.

2 words - Rolling Stones.
Pushing 70 and still cool as f....udge

For rock stars its a look that can be kept going until you turn to worm food but for the crazed fan its a look that doesnt get far past the loony bin entrance doors.

Does there have to be an age where you stop wearing certain things? Good on him for wearing what he likes!!

You are only as old as you feel so if wearing you rock pop etc tshirts makes you feel 20 years younger then why not do it.

There are worse things - mutton dressed as lamb doesn't stop with band T-shirts!

What about white stilettos - preferably of course with black fishnets? Any man could look lousy in those.
