Unromantic lot?

I just logged on expecting to see a whole bouquet of slushy St. Valentine's day related threads, only to find there aren't any.

Does this mean we are all a bunch of unromantic cynics?

Please feel free to use this thread to share any romantic suprises you may have received today, or even use it as a place to leave a cryptic message of unrequited love for another member.;)

I myself recieved nothing.:(

I shouldn't really complain too much, as the last time I sent a Valentine's card was in 1977.:D

Don't know what you're talking about garinda ;)

Usually my beloved and I simply swap cards but this year, as well as the card I've gone to the expense of getting her a bunch of flowers ........... £1.79 from Aldi. How's that for romantic? :D

I have NEVER ever had a Valentine card......and I have only had a bunch of flowers once from my hubby.....his excusefor the flowers was 'It was Christmas Eve and they would die before the shop opened again' so he bought them. Romantic or what?

Nowadays I don't expect romantic gestures.......and I haven't been disappointed......there haven't been any.

Well I got up this morning, and I think valentines day is one big money making scam!!

Anyway, I woke up and heard ginger and his mate having a brew down stairs. I got up, nipped to the loo, put on my dressing gown and went down stairs. By the time I had got down gingers mate had left.

About 1/2 hour later, his mate arrived back at our house and walked straight in, and into the kitchen. Me thinking ignorant GIT!! didn't even say hi.......then he walked back out and said " right i'm off " and left. Next thing Ginger came in with a single red rose..................
YES.....YES this would have been romantic if Ginger hadn't got his friend to pick it up at the petrol station.........because GINGER had forgot...........   HE has some major Ass kissing to do now!!!!

ROMANCE?? PHWAAA yeah right!!!!

OH and he still doesn't see the problem with his mate getting me the flower!! even when I pointed out that this was the most unthought of gift I have received of him in 10 years of marriage:(

coulda been worse asda are doing cards for 8p and they say budget on them or somat like that

also doing single red roses for £1.00

£1.08 will either get you shot or the other adult pastime that cant be mentioned in this section

Got a lovely Valentine's Day greeting from my daughter, sent to all her best friends - I know it's not traditional, but it's nice to know that somebody loves you.

Got a card from himself, as well - usually we go out for a meal, but it is such a rip-off -- everything costs more on Valentine's Day, so it's a romantic meal for two, with candles, good wine, and Italian food. (I gave him a dozen oysters one year, but only nine of them worked.)

It was in the Observer on Sunday that all chefs hate the lovey dovey food they have to prepare on one of the busiest nights of their year.

Thet breath a huge sigh of relief, then throw the heart shaped pastry cutters back under the sink for another year.
