It's Snowing !

It may not be snowing in Hyndburn yet but I have the feeling that it soon will be. It began snowing here on the coast at around 11:30 this morning and it is coming down thick and fast now.

grannyclaret 03-03-2006 12:07

Re: It's Snowing !

its clear again here at Cleveleys after a lovely show of white... its nowhere as near cold now either...

Re: It's Snowing !

Just started thickly here now too.

I'm supposed to be going out for tea. I hope it doesn't stick, as I have no more food in.:(

Gayle 03-03-2006 12:13

Re: It's Snowing !

Seeing as you and I live two streets away from each other Garinda, it's not surprising we've both got snow at the same time. lol

If you weren't so poorly, I'd be challenging you to a snowball fight at the entrance to the nature reserve in five minutes.;)

Gayle 03-03-2006 12:22

Re: It's Snowing !

I'd be tempted but I think it might just kill me off. Anyway, it looks like it's easing off, we'd only have enough snow for one shot each.

garinda 03-03-2006 13:01

Re: Snowing on the Coast……(merged)

Blimey it's really thick now.

Where are my salopettes?

Len 03-03-2006 13:04

It’s snowing like Billyo here in snuffy.
:)

Re: Snowing on the Coast……(merged)

Think I'd better don my boots, and leave the car here.

White out in Ossy.

Gayle 03-03-2006 13:15

Re: Snowing on the Coast……(merged)

Yes, it is pretty thick now. I have to go out and collect Zack soon from Accrington, erk, not looking forward to that drive. Then we were supposed to be going to Preston tonight although I was thinking of not going anyway because I'm not up to it but I might use the snow as my excuse! lol

grannyclaret 03-03-2006 13:39

Re: Snowing on the Coast……(merged)

here it comes again.... thick and white... but still sunny.... wonder if it will stick this time

I decided to walk rather than take the car, and was assulted by snowballers.

They got a mouthful back........of snow!

Tinkerbelle 03-03-2006 14:53

Re: Snowing on the Coast……(merged)

You got your money's worth!:p

Just emptied the bag with my tea in and found another snowball in there.

The little bleeders.

I gave them my most frightening stare as I walked past them, to no avail.:(

Luckily the ones I threw back went smack into their mush.:not_ripe:

Get your cameras out and take some snaps while the snow is here.
Then have a go at uploading your photos to the gallery.

http://www.accringtonweb.com/gallery...ry.php/cat/534

Lets see what we can get.

Tinkerbelle 03-03-2006 15:33

Re: Snowing on the Coast……(merged)

Might have a go later Len when the snow eases off, at minute can't see anything !! :)

Yippee, got out of work a couple of hours earlier. Looks like the snow could be set to fall for the rest of the evening.

i think the gritter got stuck up ormerod st earlier he he i turned off to get out way . lovely practise this for my hols ha ha ha

WillowTheWhisp 03-03-2006 16:31

Re: Snowing on the Coast……(merged)

That gritter didn't get all the way up here. Cars were slithering about all over the place. A council truck and a man with a shovel came and managed to get past the cars which were skewed about all over the road and he chucked some sand onto the road. Willows Lane is a bit better but Ormerod St not good.

Lets see what we can get.

Just put my first photograph in the gallery.:)

I took it with my webcam. Sadly the lead doesn't stretch to the front door, because the nature reserve looks stunningly beautiful, so I just had to snap my backyard instead.

Gayle 03-03-2006 16:56

Re: Snowing on the Coast……(merged)

I think I may have managed to upload a picture from my front door.

Think of how warm and cosy the house would be on returning. Sitting down with a large brew or a tipple of the comforting kind. :)

Popped over for an Observer at lunch, love it…….Snow in Accrington just pulls me back all those years I couldn’t resist going up Fern Gore and having a walk around in the snow, I have taken some photos if they count, all I need now is instructions on getting them in the album…..
