Always good to know someone who's reliable.

good for you as gas engineers are hard to come by at the best of times.. but I hope he was/is corgi registered and you got your corgi gas saftey certificate from him stating that your boiler is working in perfect condition cos if he wasnt the warranty that you got on/with your boiler is 100% worthless and you may be hard pushed to get another gas engineer to come out and re-survey the work - if you were to it would cost in excess of £100.
and I am not sure if this falls into place this month or next month but all boilers fitted in 2005 must be condensing boilers - and thats the law as they are more economic - wont bore you with the details...
and I am not doubting anyones work here by any standards but I hear all to often of gas appiances being fit by non corgi people and the dangers can be literally catastrophic.
sorry if I sound like I am preaching or going on.

do explain mate ...curious to know why you think its a stitch up....

High efficiency condensing boilers convert more than 88% of their fuel into heat, compared to 78% for conventional types.

Never mind the percentages what about the cash gain?

depends on your bill just now mate - but they claim they can save you anything from £100 to £400 within 4 years - roughly the extra you would pay for a condensing boiler because condensing boilers are generally more expensive than conventional ones...and also if you have the correct central heating installed.
