I have this dilema, its blown my whole world apart. I don't know how I'm going to get through this, please help!!!!

You see its like this. I started working at Barclays back in 97. At work my network logon was defined using the normal rule of first 6 chars of surname plus my initial, hence entwisi. Now I was on the net at this point but tended to have all sorts of logins depending on where I was as there is another Ian Entwistle(a doctor of physics at UMIST) who had already grabbed most of the ususal ian.entwistles logins (Hotmail etc). So I decided that I'd use entwisi. No matter where I've been, web forums, email addresses, anywhere I have never found anyone else has grabbed entwisi. Its sort of become my alter ego. If you see anything written by entwisi its pretty much guaranteed I wrote it. At work we all have nicknames, I'm entwisi there as well.

Then Yesterday my world fell apart. You see we all got new laptops and horror of horrors are connected to a new Domain. And its happened, I'm no longer entwisi!!!!!!, I'm entwisi1. How can this happen??? Its just not cricket!!!


Please please please, help me throught this traumatic experience whilst I find myself again.

You now have me confused! When I used the accyweb toilets written on the back of the door in big bold lettering is:-

entwisi is 1 too,

teh address is..... (Sorry entwisi I'm not showing the address to prevent too much traffic crashing the servers)

I assumed it was your handwriting because you have a habit of putting the as teh

Why bother about a pen name? Just make up any old rubbish - I certainly did. In fact, I was to lazy to even think something up. There is a massage parlour next door to where I am called T'ease and another building over the road called the Tea building. Easy. I just used that, or summat like it.

Ian dear, does the phrase containing the words "life" and "get a" spring to mind?

However, get Julie to make you a nice camomile tea and lie down in a darkened room for a while. If that doesn't work, trying lying on the floor and drumming your heels. Works for me.

I thoroughly empathise Entwisi ... had to do Katex1 with my E-Mail address, but think it was summat to do with the fact that I registered incorrectly in the first place, and went through twice if you know what I mean :confused:

Then they told me was already a Katex, but think it was really me in the first place .. did this on another site too .. and definitely know that 'that' woman who is Katex is really me !! Couldn't remember the password though :mad:

You get a smell like that when sat at your desk reading an email? Perhaps it's time you opened a window in your office, nobody's computer can re-create that!

entwisi: I made up my name.. no rhyme or reason to it.. I made up a word thats pronouncable.. not used by anyone else.. not copyrighted and thus I now as good as own the word :)

you do with yours.. so why dont you pay 3 quid a year and own "entwisi.co.uk" and even the .com is available... if you dont then someone else will.. you should buy the co.uk for that price and even if you dont use it you stop anyone else..

He has a young baby he can't possibly afford £3 a year :). Anyway he is spending all his hard (ish) earned money on therapy to help him get over his name change.

Mines a made up name my little girl was nicknamed Boo Boo when she was a baby and when she got a bit older it went to Boo and i am her mum so i am mummiboo! ta da.

There there Entwisi it will all be ok in the end you never know it might make you a better man!! (somehow)
