No change of allegiance here!

Gayle don't worry just because your mate Greg has joined I'll not be switching, you will as usual be getting my full attention at all times it's nice to know that one of labours big boys can take a lesson from little old you and come and join us!:D
If only the torys could be so brave!

garinda 22-03-2006 15:30

Re: No change of allegiance here!

It is weird how the Tories are quite willing to commit their names to print in the letters page of the Observer, even ex-husbands defending their women folk, but none have surfaced on here.

SPUGGIE J 22-03-2006 15:39

Re: No change of allegiance here!

If they did surface can you imagine the fun. They need someone to lead by example if they can find a soul brave enough to try. If Greg Pope can come join why cant others bite the bullet and take the plunge? Is it because it would be too real time for them?

No, not real time, even in our virtual world of accyweb it would just be,

What's all this then? Greg Pope an Accywebber? If true, he's game, I'll give him that.

Neil 23-03-2006 06:26

Re: No change of allegiance here!

But are you sure it is Greg Pope? It might be the Tories trying to discredit Labour ;)

entwisi 23-03-2006 07:10

Re: No change of allegiance here!

Only one way to find out and thats get him to a meet.

Neil 23-03-2006 08:54

Re: No change of allegiance here!

I am sure we would make him very welcome, but only if he gets the first round in. I am sure he could put it down to expenses, meeting the natives and all that. Just as long as he doesn't bring Gordon Brown with him :)

SPUGGIE J 23-03-2006 08:58

Re: No change of allegiance here!

Browns quite happy in the kingdom at weekends unless he has to go abroad and that could be sponsored by a distillery (dont know if its true).

TB takes cash loans GB takes donations of fine single malt scotch.

Re: No change of allegiance here!

On second thoughts bring him so I can explain that Bio-diesel is carbon neutral so he should remove all duty from it instead of playing around removing road tax from electric hybrid cars. If you want to achieve your Kyoto figures then encourage us to burn vegetable oil and not dead dinosaurs.

Dead dinasours dont you mean dead sea creatures?

Re: No change of allegiance here!

Thanks for the nice message, Acrylic-Bob. And Neil, the Tories don't need to discredit me - that's my job!

I suppose it would be easy to register in someone else's name in order to embarrass them. I registered because I thought it was an interesting way to keep in touch with people in Accrington from where I am today, by the Thames!

Me to....but hopefully I'll be on the 11.46 Accrington Flyer out of Euston. Can't wait to get back and smell that wonderful Blythe's aroma at Church.

Re: No change of allegiance here!

I can confirm that it's definitely Greg and not some imposter who's posting.

Glad to know you're still on my case Less, I wouldn't want it any other way.

BTW - you do all know that the Lib Dem candidate is already posting don't you?

Which ward are you taking about Gayle? Is it ours because I did not realise we had one? I just thought it was a two horse race. And no before you start on me again I am not calling you an old nag :). Like Chav said who is the candidate then? I am getting fed up only harrassing you Labour lot (it's too easy), I need to annoy some Lib Dems and Tories to make my sad life more balanced.

Gayle 24-03-2006 06:31

Re: No change of allegiance here!

Yes, Neil it is our ward - sorry to the rest of you!

I haven't 'outed' him because I don't know officially if he's standing, I just recognised his name from previous elections so I'm waiting to see if he gets his nomination in - I'm pretty certain he will or I wouldn't have mentined it. He's probably waiting until it's official until he declares himself.

PS - it's better than being called a pitbull!

A quick check on the wonderful internet thingy can reveal the answer to most questions. This is what I found.

SPUGGIE J 24-03-2006 08:42

Re: No change of allegiance here!

So Neil is this you "outing" him then or dropping a hint?

Niether mate. Just posting some infor that I found. I might be wrong, it happens occasionally ;)

SPUGGIE J 24-03-2006 08:51

Re: No change of allegiance here!

Might have to try that prior to the elections up here. THe Scottish Parly seems to be full of nobodies so some info might be handy for next year. :D

Why A-B? I am sure there will be no silly or insultive posts directed towards Greg. If there are I am sure the mods will remove them and keep an eye on things as usual.
I must say that I personally have a lot of respect for Greg coming on here. I think it shows that he is interested in what his constituents have to say. After all he is our voice in Parliament.

Who said anything about silly or insultive (sic) posts? I certainly didn't. As most members know I am the very soul of reason when it comes to commenting on the words and deeds of those who are paid to represent us. You might say that "respectful" and "uncritical" are two of my middle names; just ask the Idiot-in-Chief.

Actually, I am really pleased, and, it must be said, a little impressed, that Our Greg has at last seen the light and joined our select little group - and under his own name too! I wish that more of our elected representatives would take a leaf from his book and come and have a word or two with some of the people who have to find the money to pay for their allowances and salaries and who have to live everyday with the consequences of the decisions they make.

I am looking forward very much to trading opinions and viewpoints with Greg and I would like to be among the first to extend a warm and hearty welcome to our respected Member of Parliament.

Welcome Greg!

I hope that you will enjoy the time you spend here with us and that you find it not only entertaining but, informative as well.

By the way, Greg, what's all this about goldfish???
