satellite pictures of accrington on maps.google.co.uk ... few years old. been waiting since day one of the system for satellite pics to be shown for accy and there well out of date...years..

IS that google earth you are referring to Kipax??? i've got that & its about approx 3 years old so im told & can tell, cos my garden according to that is surrounded by fir trees & they've been taken down 2yrs back!!

I am guessing it's about 1996 this was taken.............just a guess, but i'm sure it is.

Just had a look & its harder to use the zoom & a tiny strip of viewing, google earth is easier with more options in a way though would presume they are taken from google earth site anyways:confused:

Googles lying! The photo of my house was took at least 4 years ago. Just looked at the one for my house and its got hedges - they were dug up around 4 years ago.

Well judging by the Copyright Laws what are in force on the Images. (Copyright 2002) It could very well be they were taken in 2002. :|

Ooooooo yesh. I remember than Fair like it was yesterday. The big round red thing was called the Millenium. It was ace lyk. And next to that was a Big Wheel thing but you sit in egg shaped cages what spin :P Was ace. Fair dont come anymore =(

Well they still havent built the new co-op in great harwood on that satellite pic but cant remember when that was built?

The pictures all vary greatly in age - Blackburn's been updated recently and I know they're from within the last 3 years, but Google are going more for clarity in the pictures they choose than purely being up to date. It's not long since this whole area just appeared as a great big green and brown smudge on Google earth, so at least this is an improvement. A lot of places around the world are still cloud-covered, so count your blessings you can see Accy at all!! :)

I've been asking my dad about the van on dutton street and he thinks the images are either 4years old because they got rid of the blue van 4 years ago!

Also, if you look at the bus station, half of it is being used for parking so it must have been just before they demolished the old market!
