Whilst taking the kids to school this morning, I watched a bus driver struggle to make his way down Ormerod Street with the idiotic drivers leaving him very little room to get his vehicle down. A car making its way up the street ended up in the side of his bus, it made me smile :) I thought it was excellent justice for not giving the driver the room he needed!

As I sat there watching it had me thinking, I couldn't do that job. I think they need a medal! My temper in situations like the bus drivers predicament today would get the better of me. I'd end up leaving the bus were it was and going home before I slapped someone!

The other job I would never have the patience for, would be Primary or Secondary school teacher. I could work as a nursery nurse, I love the little dinkies, but a class full of 30+ gobby kids no way!

What jobs would be your worst nightmare to do?

I agree i couldnt teach secondary school either.
Dyno-Rod workers too have my sympathy. Imagine having to unblock other peoples toilet drains ! :eek: Yuk !

I thought you had loads of patience Tinks,,,,but i wouldent like his job either .i have total respect for teachers,and nurses they are undervalued in my opinion...BRING BACK MATRON

I'd never have the patience to be a white van man. Most vans are bigger than a car, They tend to have blind spots behind huge A posts and mirrors, and lthough the side mirrirs tend to give quite a good rear view you've got no rear view mirror, no side windows and no rear window. Yet they're expected to fit through gaps where cars can go, fit in spaces where cars can go, and reverse with the precision and safety of a car.
I imagine a bus to be worse though and a hgv to be worse still.

i used to drive the 16 seater ambulance buses for social/services .they are quite easy to drive easier than a car......& you get used to just using your side mirrors..... though i did have one scary time on a sheet of pure ice in lupin rd .....only to be told that the client wasn't coming to day care that day so i just slide off again .

It just bugged the hell out of me this morning. Yes, people might be in a rush! I was in a rush too! Because people born without common sense decide not to let the bus through it holds everyone up! Why not just wait at the top or the bottom of the parked cars and let the bus through! It's not rocket science and saves a lot more time than ending up in the side of the bus, then having to exchange insurance details! :D That bit still has me chuckling.

These poor bus drivers have to put up with these nuggets on a daily basis, I'm glad I don't!

Thers a stretch of road here by the college and surgery that people insist on parking all the way down, and there's nowhere to go yet people insist on coming through after I've committed myself.

I couldnt work wit sewerage, and kids.

I couldn't do with working in anything to do with eyeballs!! Watching programmes on T.V where they are operating on eyes!!!!!!!!:eek: NO WAY!!

After the week I've had, I'm not too fond of my job at the moment..:o I could happily slap anyone who coos 'aaaaah, what a lovely job,' when they see a midwife. It's stressful, shortstaffed, busy and tragic at times. Daily abuse from visitors and underfunded.........Lovely job!!!!! Not.

secondary school teacher would be a nightmare in my opinion... The cheek of these youngsters nowadays would drive my mad.

Tinks...I used to think that.......but it didn't work for me. I once went to dinner and could smell...erm sewerage......having just cleaned a patient up.......and at that time we used the coverall gowns......I was liberally covered in poo and I must have got some on the sleeve of my dress as I was removing my gown. I had my dinner(because I thought the smell was up my nose)....but when someone pointed out I had tish on my sleeve I went straight to the laundry room for a clean frock!

Personally I couldn't do Mental Health nursing or Learning disabilities......and have the greatest admiration for those who can.

I'm not keen on any body fluids, but I've chaged enough little nappies and mopped enough accidents in the past. It was always the saying 'muck for luck' in our house.

The one body fluid I can't abide is snot, I can't even speak about it without wretching !! ewwww !! Kids with snotty candles coming from their noses!!! eww ....... OK enough I'm gonna puke !! :(

I once looked after an old feller and he sort of expectorated a great green oyster, which he then threw at me......it went right down the neck of my uniform....my collar was well starched that day....my bra and underskirt too!

It must run in the family the phobia of SNOTT!!:( I can do anything at work"" i have seen a lot of awful things...........REALLY awful things, but the only thing i can't do is clean snot or *phlegm* up..........OMG the other day a fella at work was covered in snot!! ( please wait...I'm going to puke)...........

But you see me and my friend who I work with most days have come to a good deal. She hates false teeth, and I don't do snot.......so I brush the teeth.....she cleans the snot.....hey presto.

And I'm sorry, but if i wasn't working with this girl......the little old people would have to lye in snot all day.

Hehehe, nothing puts you off your dinner when you're in nursing. It's because we are always starving from running around like idiots, doing the work of 3 people. I can put up with snot, vomit, poo, blood and basically anything else that may emanate from the human body.

The 2 things that I can't stand............ They really make me want to wretch................ Dirty toe nails and dirty belly buttons. You would be amazed how many people do not wash inside their belly button... I'm not talking fluff here, I'm talking muck that you could grow spuds in........Disgusting!!!!!!:o

Like you Lettie......I am not a bit fazed by body fluids......I don't even mind false teeth......but I can't do glass eyes.....they send me screaming off in the opposite direction. Fortunately I didn't come into contact with very many...and thank goodness I didn't do eyes in my training.

No GC, you didn't......we used to sing it at dinnertime with the aim of putting the squeamish kids off their dinner...which we would then eat for them!

It certainly did! And it only happened once...after that if I smelled poo.....I would take off my dress and inspect it carefully(in the privacy of the changing room of course......didn't want all the old boys to have a relapse)!
