Surely its a typing error!!
 

My boyfriend was reading a story in the Observer last Friday (24/03/06) page 8 "Sex victim had the mental age of a child". When he screamed out " surely thats a typing error, they can't call her that" Intrigued i asked him to read it to me and i couldn't believe what he read. Paragraph 8 referred to the victim as a "DEFECTIVE".

I AM HOPING THAT THIS IS A TYPING ERROR AND SHOULD HAVE READ "DEFENDANT".

I can't believe that a person with mental problems can be reffered to as a defective!!!:mad:

I expect it was a typo and it's probably what the person typing the story was thinking.

I did see the story but have to admit to not reading it.

I'm sure if the victim could understand she would find it very offensive, i did and i don't even know the poor girl!!!

It isn't a typo because she wasn't the Defendant.
