An afternoon of chocolate heaven
For mothers day Ian and Siobhan paid for me to have a chocoholics special treatment at Palas Athena on Warner Street Accrington.
This started with a mini facial and head massage, followed by a leg and back massage. Firstly she exfoliated the skin with dead sea salt mixed with oil, and then she melted cocoa butter chocolate and mixed it with oils and massaged the back and legs, she then used hot wet flannels to clean of the chocolate oils, the skin was then moiusturised with chocolate moisturiser. The aroma of the warm chocolate makes the mind think you have eaten it. This was the most relaxing hour and half i have had in ages, i walked out of their practically giddy on a high from the aroma of the chocolate. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a bit of pampering, it would make an ideal present. They also do other beauty treatments from manicures, facials, waxing, pedicures and a whole load more beauty treatments. If any of you do decide to pamper yourself it may be worth mentioning that you found out about it on Accyweb then she knows where her business has come from. |
Re: An afternoon of chocolate heaven
Do you get a choice of milk/dark chocolate as I prefer the latter.. sounded fun, what a good Mother's day present, although methinks a certain gentleman was behind this and would maybe love to carry on this practice. tee hee.

Slinky......I bet you were giddy with the smell too.....though I bet it wasn't anywhere near as therapeutic and relaxing.

Re: An afternoon of chocolate heaven
I think I must be a bit strange because I wouldn't go for that kind of experience......I hate being 'messed' with. I don't even like going to the hairdressers. My sister once asked me to go with her on a pampering day....I think she had won it in a raffle.....she thought I was slightly screwy when I suggested it would be wasted on me.....she took her best friend instead......said they had a wonderful time!

Have tried to analise why I don't like it. Even at the hairdressers when they ask me if I want a head massage, have been known to utter under my breath, "keep your hands offa me bitch (or tom)". I am extremely tactile, but I think it is something to do with losing control over oneself. Don't know, all my friends love it, think I may need to go and see a shrink  |
Re: An afternoon of chocolate heaven
Katex....I thought it was just me...and as for hairdressers, don't you just hate it when the make inane conversation (sorry, all you hairdressers out there)? I just want my hair cutting and out of there as quickly as is decently possible...and on occasions I have even told the hairdresser to concentrate on the cutting and cut the chat......so rude of me, but hey I'm paying!

Re: An afternoon of chocolate heaven
I love massages and my special treat is a day at the health farm.
But, I got given some vouchers for the local beauty shop where I usually have my nails and eyebrows done. It was suggested that I have a massage there but I couldn't - I love them but it would be a bit weird to have someone that I know give me a massage. |
Re: An afternoon of chocolate heaven
