He was a great singer.

I loved his duet with Marc Almond of 'Something's gotten hold of my heart,' or whatever the title was.

'24 Hours from Tulsa' must be one of the best pop records of all time too.

I felt sad when I heard the news today. I remember going to see him at Blackpool, sometime during the sixties, when I was a youngster.

He sat on the edge of the stage at one point and sang his heart out. That earned him a pic on my bedroom wall along with Cliff and Herman!

Last saw Gene Pitney at a concert on the Gold Coast in Queensland...... probably 12 yrs ago.......what a fabulous night that was.....and he was always the perfect entertainer.......came home and was still excited by his performance for weeks......he will be sadly missed by lots of people....

A star who carried on dispite not needing to. As a performer he was unique with a distinct style discribed as "pop arria" and a unique unmistakeable voice. It seems as though he died happy in his own way after giving a concert and will be missed.

I went to see Gene at southport 5 years ago, he left that Hall to a standing ovation, I was hoping to see him again but kept putting it off and now its to late, but at least I saw him, it really knocked me for six yesterday.

Rest in peace Gene.
