Can anyone tell me how someone has just completed basic training has earned the right to wear a military award (medal) ?, from what we read in the press about this person it seems either a Blue Peter badge or the ones Robertsons jam used to give out would be a more suitable decoration

It's not a military award. 'Tis merely a Queen's Jubilee Medal, after all she is his mummy. Perhaps a little research before posting wouldn't go amiss.
