Why don't you get the papers to ask why. or ask yourselves. If a police car is apparently sitting parked up doing nothing for days on end and the public want to know why, we're entitled to know.

We live in a police state up here, and are too afraid to ask.:D

come on! you can't expect the local police to know the whereabouts of all thier cars!.. they might have 6 or 7 to account for.. I suspect at the end of the audit year they will realise a car or 2 have gone missing.. and take action

An insurance scam on the go so they can get a couple of Suburu "wheeled rockets" by any chance? ;)

There has been one parked outside the petrol station at the Trafalgar Hotel on the way to Preston for the last few days.

It's part of the operation to cut crime in Ossy. I suspect there were a couple of bobbies going around, I got told they were visiting all the local pubs and chatting to people. So they hadn't abandoned their car just parked it visibly so that people could see they were there.

From what I understand a certain person had asked them to make their presence known in Oswaldtwistle over the next couple of weeks so that we would all feel safe and sound (just before the elections) and we'd conveniently forget that we've all been subjected to years of petty crime, car damage and youth problems. Too little too late if you ask me!

!

so a police car was taken off duty so to speak and abandoned outside the bank so that chavs could congrigate around it and pull its wipers apart

ps:

in all the times i passed it during the day and night which was a lot of times not one police officer was insight

A chap that I bumped into on the street said that the policemen had been going around visiting all the local pubs. It was probably in response to the beating that happened the other week.

wkd_one 23-04-2006 13:10

Re: another abandoned police car...?

the only police that i saw last night were the ones that turned up to the golden cross shortley after i left

the police car in question had not moved an inch for 2 days so if it is true that the police parked it there while they went on their rounds they either walked home or spent 2 days solid going pub to pub

Ah but maybe it was parked there on purpose to give the impression that somewhere not far away there were a couple of bobbies doing something relevant.

The police car at the garage opposite The Traflagar at Salmesbury wasn't there yesterday lunch time. The plot thickens......

if its still there just sell it as scrap. Its about time bobbies walked the beat again. The only time you see them out of a car is at a front door shop or a scran factory.

Re: another abandoned police car...?

The word on the street is that there is a rumoured raid on the money being delivered into the bank. There was also a police van parked on the site of the old Co-op opposite the bank, as well as the police car.

On Friday every person leaving the bank was escorted to the door by a police man.

Any criminal worth their salt would have started this rumour, and have all the police force tied up outside the TSB in Ossy, then deftly pull off a cheeky raid at another unwatched bank close by.;)

Re: another abandoned police car...?

Are you saying that the police are that gullible?

It was there wages they were protecting. :p

Newsflash....... Local police force caught actually doing something other than upsetting motorists and drinking tea. These brave bobbies have been protecting a bank............:D

Re: another abandoned police car...?

There was a police operation in Oswaldtwistle over Easter - it was called Who's Wrecking your Neighbourhood. Apparently crime went down which just shows that if there is a police presence on the streets it will reduce crime. With an extra 50 PCSOs and Community Warden that a Labour council will provide if they win in May this will guarantee a stronger force on the streets all the time!

You'll have to speak to your local Councillor!

I almost phoned him this morning but it would appear all that is needed is his email address as a cc on an email from someone and the problem was sorted. I do like using the cc function. It is just as useful but not as sneaky as using bcc :)

Well that's an easy question to answer, and moreover, one that does not require the expenditure of thousands of pounds worth of Police time. The poeple who are wrecking your neighbourhood are the very people you have elected to preserve and develop it - HYNDBURN BOROUGH COUNCIL!

Surely it cannot have escaped electors attention that the clowns who recently prided themselves on providing thirty years of service to the people of Hyndburn are also mainly responsible for it being the 51st most deprived borough in England and Wales?
