Last night we were all supposed to spend the night outdoors, under hawthorn bushes, waiting with bated breath to hear the tinkling bells of the Fairy Queen's coach. It seems like no time at all since I was plucking the thorns out of my bum from last year's celebrations. But enough of that, I agree with granny:" where does the time go?"

Next weekend will see my 50th birthday. Half a century! I never thought I would live to be 50. I feel impossibly old! Where has all that time gone? And what do I have to show for it? Half a dozen "impressive" paper qualifications, a knackered heart and a business that swallows every hour that God sees fit to grant me. A couple of real friends and a couple of dogs and the reputation of being a miserable old washer woman (thanks for that, kipax). That is about the sum total of my life's achievements. Not much to show for the first fifty years, is it?
Any suggestions for the next fifty years, on a postcard to the usual address.

Well if the weather is anything to go off, we might as well be in the middle of winter. Its cold and windy here.

Just cloudy here but wont be long before they dump on us. :D

It is the 1st of May but it is just another day in the wilderness that is our lives. Work eat sleep work eat sleep work eat sleep have the odd bevvy or 2 if lucky a nice holiday just like last year and the year before. Well maybe we should say to hell with it and all take a week of work starting today. :D

Happy birthday when it comes Acrylic-bob.....look at it this way..you will only be half way to being 100,
On my birthday i will be half way to being 130.. now that MUST have cheered you up......lol

Gawd Spuggie, how do you know this ? You still a young sprogg yet !!

I haven't noticed any lack of respect as yet, and even if you do get the odd bit of cheek from youngsters now and then, at least I am not invisible and still fit for comment :D

A-B .. had me in tears there son. I have now decided to have fun, fun, fun!
Spend all the money I 'aint got .. not leaving any behind I can tell yer', say what I have always wanted to say to certain people (without being too hurtful of course) and not worry that I may be behaving like a 17 year old.. sod what people think.

If it's any consolation, you were mentioned at the meet 'cause you hadn't been around for a couple of weeks, and how they were missing your intelligent, sometimes abrasive and observant comments ... so that is an achievment, 'aint it ... to be missed when not around.

Hey, so come to a meet sometime, you will probably pick up some new 'real' friends. xx

Sure you are talking about me? :confused: :confused:

Being in Scotland means that participating at a meet has to be when I am in Accy which unfortunately aint untill July due to work commits (fiscal year end) that leave me little time for a visit. :( Will be there when I can though just to "liven" the place up. :D
