Wot No Clocks?

Has anyone noticed how clocks in banks, dental surgeries and doctors or anywhere where people wait for an appointment are disappearing?

My doctor’s waiting room clock has been removed. So has the wall clock in my dental surgery although my bank the RBS in Blackburn still has a clock behind the counter that customers can see.

I guess that they don’t want us to realise how long we have been waiting for our appointment.

I remember reading something in the paper about clocks in banks... Cant remember why they are being removed. I think its something to do with security... Or maybe your right, they dont want people seeing how long they've been waiting!

Nope can't say that I have noticed a decline in clocks, if anything there are now more clocks than you can shake a stick at.
Every conceivable machine produced today seems to have a clock, if you buy a new radio, a clock, a new t.v., a clock, even a new fridge, a clock.
Doctors, dentists, etc. are being given more and more clocks by drug companys than they know what to do with.
Every Bank I go into, on the wall is not just a clock but it has a calender with todays date on it displayed too, (perhaps they think this will help customers when filling in paying slips to get the date right).

As for trying to prevent you from knowing how long you have waited, they always have and always will end up keeping you waiting so they wouldn't bother trying to hide the fact from you.

So sit back, relax, enjoy the magazines they have so generously provided for you and just for once let the world go by without worrying about the main clock, the one ticking away inside you because when that stops.........

Re: Wot No Clocks?

For your information bad breath brown I paid my taxes and National Insurance contributions since I started work at the age of 15 down a coal mine, 54 years ago. I served my country for 13 years in the Royal Navy and then worked very hard until my work schedule prompted my heart to register a major complaint.

So your taxes don’t pay for my free prescriptions – I have already paid for them with hard cash and my health.

Has it not occurred to them that customers have watches?

Infact. Instead of going all that way to removing all the clocks from every store. Why dont they actually fix them problem as to why people are waiting in the first place?
