Mike the Headless Chicken
No doubt this will stir up chaos amongst the veggies and the animal friends on here but put Mike the headless chicken in your search engine and view the results! What a great story and how gutted must that farmer have been when Mike finally died! Totally unbelievable if it wasn't for the photos!

Re: Mike the Headless Chicken
Without its napper how did it know were it was going.
Now from 2.5 pounds to nearly 8 pounds at his demise 18 months later makes me wonder how big the crimbo turkey would get under the same circumstances.  Eighteen months running round like that (a headless chicken) begs the question "would a polition arrogent tv star etc be any better in the same condition?" |
Re: Mike the Headless Chicken
Yeah;the daft bird didn't even realise it had no head and still tried to crow and preen itself!

Re: Mike the Headless Chicken
I cant honestly believe that story, if it had no head then surely it wouldn't be able to live, if it is true then i'd be gob smacked, but where was its brain ?.

Re: Mike the Headless Chicken
According to the website, due to the cack handed way the farmer tried to decapitate Mike he left most of brain stem intact,I know it's far fetched but scarily it looks genuine! Wonder what the other chickens made of it???

There should be a shrine to Mike, and a little gift shop where you can purchase plastic replicas and little pipettes to feed him.
Something like this, butwith a detachable head.:p |

Re: Mike the Headless Chicken
There was a program on TV about it some time ago, maybe a year or more. There were photos and film footage of the thing and yes it was creepy but it was certainly alive and running around. It went on tours round the country and ended up choking to death if I remember correctly. And yes there are souvenirs available too but I can't remember what, possibly t-shirst, that kind of thing.
