Interesting brick.........is it from Nori?

That is interesting where is it?.they don't make bricks like that any more. my grandad used to make bricks like that at hunchwood, down here. all hand made, good solid bricks.

Most interesting bricks I've ever seen, and we've still got some, where some white glazed ones, like you find in the underground or toilets, that had 'durex' moulded in to them.

If not Nori it might be from the Steetly Works that was also in Huncoat before closure demolision and the building of houses.

I'm no expert but I reckon it'll be a Redac brick as their works was in Huncoat. Does anyone remember the buckets that used to cross over Burnley Road from the quarry to the Redac brick factory?

My dad (Kenneth Entwistle if anyone knew him)worked at Nori a few times, (interspersed with Howard and Bulloughs).

He used to empty the bricks from the ovens and load them onto lorries. Had lots of tales about them. Of course a NORI is a lot heavier than a london brick (8lbs each IIRC) and he used to tell tales of southern wagon drivers who used to insist to load up with the same number of NORIs as they would carry Londons only for either the wagon to break or the local bobbys to send them back to take 3/4 of them off where my dad would make them unload them themselves :)
