Eurovision 2006.
I wonder who will win, I havent voted myself but I think Ireland are in with a chance this time.
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
I'm just glad its nearly finished, mrs has been watching it and theres been some awful noises coming from the TV
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
There's only one winner - Terry Wogan. I have to watch this show because he makes it even more ridiculous than it is and I just crack up at his commentary. :D
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
You should have watched it, there was some fantastic cleavage, just put the tv on turn the volume down and put a cd on.
Did we get any points.Someone said that we chose the song for uk, well just so that you know, It wasn't me, I've chose nothing, I'm not guilty. |
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Prince's Trust on 3 quite good. Just seen Ossie .. took his sunglasses off .. what a difference !! Think maybe has had his face stretched like Sharon .. looked really youthful :Banane10:
Will Young was rubbish. |
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Mrs did flick through the channels earlier and ended up on one of the music channels, the official world cup song was on, I'll give her some credit she turned back to eurovision cause the songs were better - now thats saying something
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Yes well, I also heard that our entry was a rap song, dunno if thats true. other countries had gorgeous girls, sexy guys and we had hmmmm. Since when have rap songs represented this country?
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
I haven`t heard our song this year, usually it is splashed all over the place, or have i just been lucky and avoided it!!
Hope we at least get some points though, used to love watching Terry`s analysis of the ever so political point giving lol! Has anyone heard our song? whats it like? |

Re: Eurovision 2006.
Finland won it!
According to Daz (the uk singer) he was gonna finish 5th, now he was nearly right we finished 6th................ FROM THE BOTTOM.........:D |
Re: Eurovision 2006.
I've seen it tonight. Girls dressed up in school uniforms and a middle-aged white man doing Rap in a fake West Indian accent; all a bit suspect if you ask me, and absolutely dreadful.
How about the winner then? Roy Wood and the Trolls. :D |
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Well we picked it, lmao. and omg, at the winner, the judges are worse. out of all the decent and really good singers and babes they chose some terible sounding monster thing with ugly guys pransing around, the worlds has gone insane. ~goes to lock myself in~
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Finlands dress was great ...Those shoes had me in stiches....I wonder if he borrowed them from Gary Glitter...Terry Wogan is the best compare for that show ,he definatly has the gift of making a rubbish show entertaining
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
I agree Granny it was a load of rubbish tonight as it has been for the last few years.

Re: Eurovision 2006.
I didn't get to see Eurovision all the way through only the last few votes, the winner had already been decided. I'm glad Lordi won they rock :mosher: lol!
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
You've got no taste
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Pearl Carr and Teddy Johnson now they could sing , and that nice young man, Cliff Richards , the best examples of what it means to be British , (sorry if I crossed a thread)

Re: Eurovision 2006.
tbh you haven't got that bad a taste actually, you like a good range,I was quite impressed, but seriously I can't see why any of you like the winner. I don't even class that as music, it's just noise, and shouting. Now bon jovi they're good.
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Wiill agree with you all there. The winners were monsterous and won on their costumes.I would even go so far as to say i thought Terry Wogan was well *issed
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
somebody up there must love me, have not heard ONE of the - dare i call them songs? to me people who like the song contest must be (1) tone deaf. (2) have a grudge against music. (3) have been abducted by aliens and had there brain cells adjusted.:D
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Are you sure they wernt aliens to start with? I listened to it and wanted to hughie all ove the place. Its not a contest in the true sense of the word because of all the crud thats on. Too monotone and I couldnt make out the song, though I like heavy rock this was well err not the best example around. Wonder if they will hire the costumes out for Halloween?
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Watched the last half hour or so and was so glad that Finland won and so glad that we did badly as Englands was a blooming awful song.
I quite liked the Lordi song but more than anything I was pleased they won just to show what a pile of poo that programme / competition is. Plus the fact that there were some Greek politicians that attempted to get them banned for satan worshipping when all they were doing was dressing accordingly for the genre of music that they produce. |
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Now we all know Lordi are absolute turd; but I thought compared to all the Steps wannabes and our disturbed eminem wannabe - Lordi was the best Eurovision entry EVER!!
Finland forever woo! |
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Best Eurovision in YEARS. Lordi - Hilarious, Terry Wogan back on top form, Daz Rubbish suitably chastised and Fearn Cotton giving the "Devil's horns"sign when giving Finland our 12 points. Classic bit of trash TV and beats BB into a cocked hat.
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Lordi, Lordi... What a hoot!!, still 1970 in Finland I see. I quite liked the entry that sang we`re gonna win vote for us, with the breakdancing bald guy, hilarious!!
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Lordi's lead singer is a former film student called Tomi, which is a bit disappointing really.
Funniest moment was the pished Dutch man who was supposed to deliver the vote from the Netherlands, but instead insisted on giving his mobile number to the bemused Greek host Stakis. You knew we were in for a treat when prior to the contest Eamon Holmes was attacked live on the lottery show by Mutha F**kers for Justice, or whatever they are calling themselves now.:) |
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Oh one more ting.
Lordi's 'Hard Rock Halleluiah' is a direct rip off of Alice Cooper's 'Poison' just incase no one noticed for all the dungeons & dragons meets Kiss stage antics! |

Well maybe I was wrong about Ireland's chance, but it was a great song IMHO.
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Thought it was great;most enjoyable Eurovision ever! have to agree with uncle Mick that the crazee Lithuanians deserved something for their bizarre Kraftwerk style madness. Well done Lordi;common sense reigns for once in Europap land.:Banane47:

Re: Eurovision 2006.
The Eurovision Song Contest is the biggest farce to hit our screen since Brian Rix.
I accept that many people will have enjoyed the programme and that’s fine by be. I know where the TV zapper is and with some 30 odd digital channels to choose from I do – did. Bring back the International It’s A Knockout. That at least was funny. |
Re: Eurovision 2006.
And Stewart Hall too,,, his laughter was so infectious.. :rofl38: :rofl38:
|
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Now that was cheesy "It's a knockout"...
but oh how I loved it :D :p :D :p :D |
Re: Eurovision 2006.
Come on you guys, the only thing that was funny about it's a knockout was Stuart Hall's laughter. The programme itself was dross. Who would want to watch a chartered accountant from Leamington Spa, or wherever, dressed in a duck costume trying to get as much water from one end of a field to another whilst bank clerks from Frodsham hit them with over sized cotton buds to get them to drop their buckets. Not exactly quality programming BUT if they just had Stuart Hall laughing like a goon for half an hour the country would be a better place.
