Beyond 'the average'

I reckon I am about average: average height, average weight, average shoe size, average income, average intelligence, average viewpoints, average needs, just about everything is average about me. This makes life easy for me I reckon.

Just wondered if anyone here was beyond the average or 'special' I prefer to say, and what advantages or disadvantages it creates for you.

Realise going to attract some comments from our resident clowns, but OK I will press the 'submit new thread' button.:)

That's a bit of a scary question for a Saturday afternoon. I too am probably average - but absolutely hate the word along with the word 'ordinary' and I try my hardest to not be 'ordinary'. I see that as a huge disadvantage and continually work hard to be 'out of the ordinary' whilst knowing that 'that is precisely what I am'.

Phew, huge psychological stuff.

Re: Beyond 'the average'

I think that we need to define average here.... What exactly would you class as average????

If you are thinking of the mean or medium, then averages change..... The average height is now taller than years ago, the average weight is now heavier, even the average birthweights are heavier. The average income is higher than you would expect.

You may well find that none of us are average, which must mean that we're all special...:D

In reality I don't know anyone who is 'average'. Everyone has their different strengths and weaknesses.

By the way Kate, I think your beauty is above average...... for your age.;)

I'll not look average when I'm a bridesmaid at Chav and Neil's commitment ceremony.;)

OK, I'm a little below average height but then the best surprises come in small packages and there have been quite a few very remarkable shorthouses (anyone mentions Hitler or Napoleon and you're dead, all right?). I do have average shoe size (5) and live in an average semi-detached house with an average garden. I have slightly more than the average children, but who wants 2.4 children anyway?, and I drive an average car. In everything else - I'm definitely superior. ;)
