Well done, Diesel. Let's face it, having a go always took courage, but these days it takes even more, considering that (a) you might end up on the wrong end of a knife or (b) you might be in trouble with the police yourself, now that lowlife scum are considered to have "human rights".

Cheers everyone, I just hope the scumbag gets put away for a decent spell and the lady he attacked can get on with her life.

I'm probably being a little modest, but it was almost instinctive to shout, then run over and confront him. I'm still relieved that a) I never had to go to Court and b) He never attacked me!

You're right about it being instinctive I did much the same couple of years ago and confronted two blokes beating up another one who was down on the floor. they did leave him alone but it was only after they had gone and I went up to the fella on the floor I realised he had also been stabbed!!! Luckily ambulance and police attended quickly and when it went to court they eventually pleaded guilty so saved me from the witness box.... (it was only later that day it sunk in and the adrenalin had dropped that I realised the danger I could have put myself in).

although scariest bit was going to court only for the defendant to be walking into the building same time as me...phew he didn't recognise me!!

As a retired highly-qualified 'medical' you should know better,. blood transfusions carry no genes 'cause only the red corpuscles involved here, genes are carried in the white; the few that get through are easily dispersed and have no effect.

As someone who has been mugged three times I wish someone like Diesel was around when it happened to me.

Diesel, you are a top man for what you did and well deserved Karma on its way, you are a credit to your family and more importantly to yourself.

Well, he got away with it, no custodial sentence because he'd been on remand in custody for 170 days. Unfortunately, it didn't suprise me one bit. In the same page, it mentions the woman who was attacked is too frightened to leave her house, which is an absolute shame. 170 days for ruining a womans life is no punishment imo

not surprised at all to be honest, tat guy down here who punched his ex and broke her cheak bone only got a few months. It's these sorts of criminals that should be in jail, they should be made an example of, they aren't petty crimes, they are serious, they ruin peoples lives.
Really makes me sad and annoyed that they are treated as petty.
