Trolls.
Whilst looking at Kipax's photographs I noticed one of his sites is called Trolling.
Thinking it an interesting title I thought I'd take a look. Do we have any trolls on Accy Web? http://www.trolling.co.uk/ |
Re: Trolls.
They look like a nasty bunch...none of 'em on here, as far as I'm aware.

well i read this bit
An Internet "troll" is a person who delights in sowing discord on the Internet. He (and it is usually he) tries to start arguments and upset people. and saw no reason to carry on ... gues i must be a troll eh ... |
Re: Trolls.
A site that i and Romps go on regurlarly has had many trolls and no i dont think we have had any on accyweb, i must admit when im bored i find them amusing but we get told 'not to feed the trolls' eg dont ancourage them by replying to there posts etc.some of them are proper funny but some are just extremely rude and insulting.

It was taken as they queued at the bar in The Stag for their beers. On the left is Mick, then Tealeaf with his hands in his pockets, then Less, Staggeringman and last but not least Len on the end! I don't know about you lot but I think the resemblance is un-canny :D |

Re: Trolls.
When I went to Mount Pleasant Primary School in Ossy, aka Hippings Methodist, we reckoned that there were trolls under the bridge over Tinker Brook, just across t'other side of Union Road.
|
Re: Trolls.
did you ever find any?
|
Re: Trolls.
Too frightened to look.
With hindsight I suppose that we were told that to stop us going there and possibly falling in. BTW the word Hippings means stepping stones and I remember being told that there were ancient stepping stones over Tinker Brook. |

How many friends have you got on facebook that you don't actually know? Lots of folk send out friendship requests on there without actually knowing the people they are befriending. It seems to be a craze to ask people you don't know to be 'friends' I did toy with breaking the 'friendship' with Bee...but I think that would be mean spirited....and I would always try to help a new member, whether they were a friend or not. |

Or when a certain person, keen on questions, sent me a third p.m. tonight, asking about my avatar. This time demanding to know what my last three were. Very nearly got grumpy, but deciding troll genocide would be more fun, went for the latter option. No more answers from me, to the most inane of questions. :) |

Oh, Margaret.....let him have his bit of fun!:)
If it is the only way he can get a bit of fun, he must have a very mundane kind of life(though I think I suspected that anyway). |

It comes to something when people here decide who can be your 'friends' |
Re: Trolls.
No Steve. I actually have him on ignore.(I find his posts incredibly tedious...the third person singular doesn't endear him to me......I know others may see it as refreshing or novel) So, had his post not been quoted, I would not have been able to see what his post was.
It is churlish of him to castigate Bee, and to make personal insults about him(calling someone ugly is a personal insult, rather than a joke)...I'm sure when he reads the post back to himself he will see this....and then offer yet another worthless apology. |
Re: Trolls.

I do not dictate to anyone who they can have as friends and certainly would not give negative Karma to someone who wanted to have either Groove or Bee as their 'Friends', and as you know Margaret, I am moderate in my views. I don't find Grooves posts offensive in the main...(apart from when he calls me by any name which isn't mine - I will let him know when he can refer to me in any of the diminutives of the name Margaret)but I do find his habit of posting in third person tedious, and choose not to read them. I do hope this clarifies my position. |
Re: Trolls.
I like reading Groove's posts, if you look beyond the jokes he sometimes has some interesting things to say. You've got to admit some of the threads he's started generate a lot of response.
|
Re: Trolls.
I do hope this clarifies my position.
So it's mainly "stick" then? hehe! |
Re: Trolls.
Steve, each to their own.......you are entitled to your opinion.
I admit that his posts have generated a lot of responses...that is what Trolls do....they toss out a contentious or controversial idea, sit back and watch the fireworks. That says it all really. |

Time to stop the in-fighting surely -at least for today!
Sad when so-called grown-ups have to pick on others. |
Re: Trolls.
Quote:
I accept what you are saying, but it is never acceptable to hurl personal insults at another member...in fact unless I am sadly mistaken it is against the rules. Now Groove could have scored some brownie points by ignoring Bee's very childish posts...they are childish because he is a child with much in life still to learn......whereas, unless Groove has misled us too, he is a grown man, and should be able to take the immature ramblings in his stride. |

|
Re: Trolls.
Its simple to me,its perfectly understandable that groove, steve n others thought bee was n adult, by misleading people on yer profile, then yeh can only reap what yeh sow, are some too dim to grasp that?
|
Re: Trolls.
I too always thought Bee was an adult, (until rcving a message telling me so a couple of days back) never entered my mind that a child would be on what I would consider an adult site. He might have permission from his parents, but I don't come on here to chat, or offer my opinions to a child, so I will not be apologising for any comments previously directed at Bee, child or adult if someone's annoying, they're annoying.
