Used to have a plot with a mate years ago.

Now got large(ish) back gareden split into 2 doing 1 part (again) this years and will start on other next.

Bl**dy DOCKS, CREEPING BUTTERCUP etc and sorry to say you will have to dig all the couch, bind weed etc as even the best weed killers will not kill ALL the roots.

Tried weed killer it last year still found live roots when digging this year, as weeds tend to split easy so new ones pop up.

glysophate, sprayed several times until bind weed and brambles die back works, and it doesn't come back, what will come back is the binweed that you couldn't get at on next doors plot. The roots can travel yards, between shoots coming upwards, so the root over the other plot won't get enough weed killer to finish it off. Also that one is connected to shoots yards inside that plot.
It is possible to get it back to your boundary though and you just have to carefully try to pull the roots up back towards the boundary in the direction they've come from when it comes through. Remember though that a 1cm piece of root will grow a new bind weed plant, as will a slither of leef. If your removing by hand, your best unwinding them and gettingrid of each plant carefully or checking daily for roots breaking though, and pulling them up.
Brambles can take several weeks to kill, and again need several sprays, again the problem is, brambles grow up, fall over, root, gro up fall over, bit like this nnnnnnnnnn so if you kill the the end one, the rest will come back, but again if you kill them and clear them to the edge youshould be able to keep them under control.

couch grass, thick, course, wild grass that grows in clumps. I've never been able to get rid of, I can only keep it down, I dig it out it comes back, I weed kill it, it dies for two years and it's back.

If your going to use glysophate remember it kills what it's sprayed on, and if bind weed is growing through a prized plant, that means unwinding each stem, covering the plant with plastic and just spraying the bindweed or painting it with a model brush.
